It's going to be as hot as the devil's *** crack around here this weekend. 100 degree temps can suck it. That being said, I have plans to see Bruno tonight, followed by some drinks. Tomorrow we have swimming/soccer for the kids, followed by as much tree pruning as we can do before passing out from the heat. Sunday, I'll try and hit the gym (down almost 5 pounds!) before the great garage clean up of August begins.

Oh yes, it will be *********

Grats on the weight loss, and enjoy Bruno... it's hilarious and messed up :-P

I'm off to Ocala for most of the weekend. Need to watch off the parents' house. Got a birthday party on Saturday to attend. Want to spend Saturday night getting drunk at a Gainesville bar. Yes, that's my actual plan; pick and go to a bar, sit there for hours and drink, then try and find my way back home without driving. There's an Irish pub I might hit up...

Happy friday all. My weekend is about to start, half an hour and I can go home. Not much planned, probably bbq and some beers with friends, and visit the grandparents on sunday. Enjoy your weekends!

Spending saturday scouting for fences. After that who knows; probably run at least 5 miles, maybe some jump ropes, wash/wax the car, catch up on some other projects, and try to get half way through w/20k leagues. All of this sober, trying to stay sober a couple of months and loose 20lbs before we get into the meat of sec season.

I'm going to hang out at home with my dog and a large supply of fresh cherries. I'll probably try and fix my broken bass at some point as well.

Did we miss last Friday or something?

Well, last weekend we replaced the roof on my mom's garage. We being two friends and I - a carpenter, an auto mechanic and a computer operator, roofing a 40-degree slope in pouring rain. A large dumpster was dropped off in the driveway for the week and after the roofing the garage itself was cleared out and also the basement - thirty to forty years worth of accumulated crap, most of which is rotting away. I have to go finish loading the last of the shingles in before they cart the bin away, actually.

This weekend? Moan and groan while recovering from this week's activity, I guess. Yesterday was the wprst; I got most of the large stuff out of the basement (a dorm fridge, a couch (disassembled with an 8-pound maul), a bunkbed frame and computer desk (both also disassembled) as well as split a decent pile of wood to get the logs out from in front of the basement door.

Mixed weekend here. I booked the day off to destress and watch the England V Australia cricket match (we're looking shaky) and get some housework done. It's been raining like a Rhino pissing on a slab all week, but today and the weekend are sunny and pleasant.

I've just put a Steak & Ale casserole in the oven for dinner this evening (with fresh beetroot, mushrooms, carrots, garlic & herbs; Pommes Dauphinoises on the side).

Tomorrow is the g/f's father's 83rd Birthday and we're planning to spend the day helping him extend his model railway around the full circumference of the garden. The blot on the landscape is that his wife (86yo with a history of chest infections) has contracted swine-flu, so we'll be looking after her during the day.

Sunday I'll probably watch cricket while girly goes to the gym, then we'll stroll down the local hostelry for a Roast Sunday Dinner al-fresco.

Got all the small stuff moved, today and this weekend i move the last remaining large stuff (bed, couch, computer desks, etc) and officially move my residence to the new house.

except for one rather unfortunate rummy nose tetra which was a little too good at hide and seek, all the fish survived the move!

network cutover is supposed to transfer here soon, so you might not see me for a day or two. try to behave!

I have to order the windows I got quoted last weekend, and so I'll be doing the final measurements, and then praying that I measured everything correctly. I have little room for flexibility because my siding is asbestos slate, and while perfectly safe and a great product sitting there, it is a bit awkward to cut. As such I need special molding to compensate etc etc.

Other then that, Hopefully the weather will be nice and I can convince someone to do a 100K bike, which I haven't done as much as I'd like this summer.

A couple months ago, our large freezer out in the garage was discovered to have been partially open on a really warm day (probably courtesy of a certain 2 year old, but it's our fault for not buying a freezer with a lock or putting a bungee cord around the damn thing or something) so we lost all of the food we'd had stored in there. This was quite a blow, because I tend to cook in big batches and freeze things for later preparation. For instance, when I make meatloaf, I'll make a quadruple-sized batch, then take the other three uncooked servings, put them in Foodsaver bags, press them flat into slabs (so that they'll thaw really quickly) and vacuum seal them. I have a number of soups that freeze very well, particularly my broccoli cheese soup, and I make a truly badass spaghetti sauce that works really well in lasagna or on top of any pasta you can dream of.

Anyhoo, we lost a whole bunch of stuff. I was pissed. I've managed to restock most of the meats, but we have no soups, no spaghetti sauce, no meatloaf, nothing. Which means I'm SOL when we have a day where I don't want to or don't have time to put a great deal of effort into dinner prep.

So this weekend, the plan is to head to Costco and get a whole bunch of the ingredients I'll need in bulk and early next week before the weather gets warm again, do big batches of some soups and sauce and whatnot. Last time I made meatloaf, Tristan was thrilled to help me chop the red and green bell peppers and onions and garlic in the food processor, so I'm sure I will have a very eager helper underfoot unless I can convince Mr. Ambrya to get him out of the house.

Tonight is going to be a downtime night with the family. Try to get some housestuff, yardstuff and garage stuff done and laundry, as usual. Chargers Fan Fast here in San Diego on Saturday so I'm trying to convince Ray that we should take the kids and go to that but he's a Broncos fan so we'll see. He loved me enough to go to the public training camp past Wednesday. Charmaine has an audition for another movie for the part of the daughter in a family whose yacht has been hijacked by Somalian pirates. Sunday, Filipino Cutural Festival in Balboa Park and try to hunt down some Balut.

I have today off.Smiley: grin

I've already been pretty productive. Went and picked more blueberries. They're just bursting off the bushes all over the place. I can't help but harvesting them.

Think we're gonna try and get down and see Dar Williams at an outdoor show tomorrow. Sunday I hope to get a bike ride in.

Company picnic on Saturday. Granted, it's the same people I see Mon-Fri but this time it's outside. And with craptons of freshly prepared Mexican food.

Aside from that, an assload of house cleaning so we can go on vacation this Wednesday knowing that the house is clean.

I'll be spending the weekend being miserably depressed after the worst phone interview I've ever had while trying to appear upbeat and energetic so as not to alert the 4 year old to her mother's impending nervous breakdown.

Oh, dear. How bad could it have been? Did they give you a pop quiz?

No, I'm just uncertain that they were particularly experienced at performing interviews. They were surprisingly inarticulate, and then sounded annoyed when I answered the question that they didn't mean to ask and not the one they were apparently trying to. After I described how it went to Smash, he has come to the conclusion that it could only be a prank and there there's not even a real position.

Oh well.

Exercise this morning, then an afternoon at Borders. We considered going to the local meeting of Liberally Drinking, but we're still not sure.

Also, my husband just found out the dude that shot up the ladies gym was a member of his parents church. (Which he himself was a member of until he turned 18, realized he'd been brainwashed, and became an atheist.)

Back to VA by her family. But, instead of hanging out in DC for a week, we're going to Virginia Beach for a few days as well. Joph Jr. shall get his first view of the ocean.

Although, really, standing on the shores of the Great Lakes is about the same from a "nothing but water as far as I can see" perspective. The ocean water moves around more though.
