Pretty easy way to break into the karma circle jerk here, I should think. So what have you people been listening to this month? I'll get us started:

The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Kinks
The hollies
Nine inch nails
E-40
Alice In Chains
M.I.A.

No particular albums, just whatever songs I like best. My taste in music is eclectic and better than yours.

Do you mean this month, or this millenium?

Have you even read the threads on this forum? You need to lurk a bit more I think.

I've been listening to Paul McCartney's new stuff in the hopes the I'll recognize some of it when he plays it tomorrow night @ Fenway.

But who am I kidding, I'm going there for Beatles/Wings stuff.

Well unless you are a sock, you don't appear to have got involved and therefore may be missing the 'tone' of the forum, hence the reaction to your post.

Step one: Haha <established poster>, that was so funny.
Step two: Reference to The Princess Bride, Monty Python, text adventure games, Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy, Dune
Step three: Semi decently written support of mainstream American moderate democrat political stance.
Step four: Repeat previous steps a few times
Step five: Forum acceptance.

Now would you care to discuss music?

A flimsy written re-write from a top Bash quote doesn't get you much kudos. Anyway I think you've gone no-rate, not sure, but I think so.

So where exactly are you "discussing" music? You just list what you listened to last month, without giving any explanation (I like band "x" because of "y").
Also, there aren't even nearly enough monty python references here.
#15REDACTED, Posted: Aug 05 2009 at 2:10 AM, Rating: Unrated, (Expand Post) So I should share my completely subjective reasons for liking a band so some ******* can tell me why his musical preferences based on completely subjective opinions are better than mine? Good idea, buddy. The detailed discussion will develop as more people share what they've been listening to it. It's basic human interaction, I'm sure it can be managed without me holding your hand through it.

That's the idea of a discussion yeah.
Also, what I make up from your posts is that we're all dipshits, what the hell are you doing here then? Shouldn't you be conversing with people of your own status and intelligence?

Poor you, being ignored by what seems to be a troll is quite harsh Smiley: grin
#19REDACTED, Posted: Aug 05 2009 at 2:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Not everyone here is a ******** Just a certain portion. For example, you, goggy, and all the other no-name kids trying way to hard to be accepted with poorly executed elitism. The top and mid tier posters, as it were, can actually be quite entertaining and even enlightening to talk to. While they can be a bit close minded and clique-y, they're still miles above you (from what I've seen, anyway).

Please show me an example of my "poorly executed elitism". Also, I'm not a no-name poster. Look towards the left side of my post and you'll see a name.

Ok, I apologise, yesterday I listened to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, today I've been enjoying a bit of Neil Diamond, but it's noisy in the office so I'm thinking of flicking over to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

If one day I could be as good a poster as Jophiel and my life will be complete, until then I just keep staring upwards, admiring the upper tier.

What do you like so much about game music anyway, Pensive? Is it the lack of lyrics? 'Cause not all normal music has lyrics.
#24 Aug 05 2009 at 3:25 AM Rating: Default
I love game music because it reminds me of the games. You can never get tired of Bolero of Fire.

Nah, plenty of game songs have lyrics, and I like lots of other types of music also. I don't really think I like it any more than normal stuff, but I'm exposed to a lot more of it than I am exposed to new non-game songs, and therefore I collect more of it.

The presence of sh*tloads of orchestra doesn't hurt.

Some songs are also like that, but I don't even remember when most of the things I listen to play in the game. They're just generally powerful and moving pieces. If I knew more about music terminology I could describe it better.

The last boss' song in Okami is like that. It fits absolutely perfectly for the fight and never fails to make me happy. It's ultimately what made me change my rating of it from a 9.4 to a 10.

I haven't been listening to music much, lately. I'm more a fan of sports talk and news radio. Though whenever I am out at mid-day I try to catch Bachs Lunch on one of the local classical/NPR stations.

On Saturday I was out returning a framing nail gun and had the semi-classic-rock station on and my son was bopping along rather enthusiastically to Golden Earring's Radar Love.
