Haha, conventional explosives in a place without an atmosphere.

You'd need a RP-antimateriel and a guidance system.

Or a tungsten rod the length of a telephone pole.

Omega,
I have no problem with him operating within the scope of Obama's authority and permission to go to NK and attempt to get these girls out of country. And, frankly, I'd be surprised if he wasn't able to arrange some kind of deal where the Koreans got to save face and give them up to Clinton. I would like to think our government would do the same for you or me if we were in similar circumstances. Doubtful, but it'd be nice to think that.

All that aside, it doesn't change the fact the man is a walking, talking Chester the Molester, a guy one secret Service agent away from wearing a trench coat and flashing kiddies outside the playground his junk. He talks a great game, knows politics, has charisma up the wazoo, but hey, so was John Wayne Gacy as far as we know.

The man is a skeez.

Now, now Totes. We both know that there's no danger of Clinton going after kiddies as his preference has always been a peculiar kind of women. They're certainly not lookers, but they're all certainly full grown women.

And really, being good with women certainly correlates to having great charisma & being able to talk evil dictators into returning US citizens who work for his old VP.

So what's really your problem with Clinton? Remember Totes, a wise man once said, "Don't hate the playa', hate the game."

#57REDACTED, Posted: Aug 04 2009 at 10:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm not entirely clear on what's going on here. Apparently the journalists have been freed, was that the case when this thread was made? It would seem he negotiated their release in less than 24 hours, which is hard to believe.

Ok, so seriously, do you suppose Clinton managed to convince one (or both!) of these girls to give it up on the way back home in exchange for him using his extraordinary hostage mediation skills to negotiate their release?

I can see him working it.

No, they hadn't been released when this thread started. But, to be fair, from what I read, all Clinton had to do was show up & talk to Kim for 3hrs & they let them go.

He didn't do any negotiating or apologizing, he just had to show up so North Korea could say that he apologized & could release them without losing the fear they've instilled on their populace.

& I dunno if they "gave it up", but I wouldn't be surprised if he got a BJ sandwich after lighting up a stogie.

In truth, I think that what's this whole thing was about: Getting the United States to dance a little soft shoe shuffle to the Dear Leader's tune, stroke his ego, make us a supplicant to the mighty North Korean will.

It may not play that way elsewhere across the globe, but you can be assured that is Jong Il's take on it. The question is did this damage our ability to deal with them or not? I can see arguments for it either way. I hate to say it, but perhaps it would have been better to just leave those two "journalists" to rot in prison until more favorable conditions could be arranged.

IDK. I'm inclined to believe by throwing them a bone (Clinton), North Korea might be more apt to come back to the Nuke negotiation table. And while I don't really care whether or not we respect North Korea, the illusion of respect isn't going to hurt things in the short term.

Well, if there *is* one thing ol' Slick is good at, it's throwin' his bone around, so you're udoubtedly correct there, Omega.

Totally. And each would think the other was the exception to the rule.
