I have a handmade set in carved onyx that I bought in Mexico about years and years ago.

I have one with handcrafted plastic pieces loving carved by Tibetian monks before being encased in a folding metal board expertly crafted by the finest blacksmiths of Madrid. Also the pieces have magnets. From... umm... Quebecois fur-trappers.

I have a set handcarved of rock by Andy Dufresne from his prison days.

Chess is the game of royalty. Of course you have to think 3 moves ahead for every piece every time. The challenge is doing it in mere minutes.

It's like a mini-war of will and wit.

Yeah you know what? Ancient **** just doesn't do it for me anymore. Fight me in advance wars or something.

I have a simple blocky wooden chess set I made when I was a kid in Cub Scouts. I used to also make chess sets out of Legos. One side would be medieval guys and the other side would be space guys.

I'm not sure that throwing a bunch of guys on to a checkboard counts as "making a chess set".

Smash hasn't been around all day, and didn't make any chest-thumping noises. Are you sure it was him?

Samy,

Unless someone created the smasharoo username it was probably him. But feel free to test my skills.

Samy,

Wouldn't be worth it to play. Unless you have the skills of a master you won't be able to keep up.

As we can see here, when I gamely went to pit myself against Varus, he was nowhere to be seen. No doubt quivering in a corner somewhere, soaked in his own urine. Also, he was probably afraid to play chess.

With this, I declare myself Grand Winner of All Chess due to his forfeiture.

I am completely convinced that varus doesn't own a home computer. He only posts here M-F, 9-5. He says it's because he has better things to do when he's off work than be on a computer, but that's *********
