Personally, i'd rather have a good subway sandwich than a Micky D burger anyday. It's not as if they are bad-tasting, but you can literally feel your arteries clog up as you eat it. It is, as squidward from spongebob put it, "a heart attack on a bun".

Their burgers are questionable, though I noticed they've jumped on the angus beef trend. Still, whoever came up with the $1 large sweet tea idea, that has since been extended to include any fountain drink and any size, was a genius. I used to avoid McD's like the plague, but I just can't say no to that.

Stop being a drama queen with an overly exaggerated story about the quality of McDonald's food.

I don't see what the problem is? Their burgers taste ok, nothing special, but not as bad as you describe. A McD's on a rare occasion is fine. Generally when I've forgotten what they taste like.

The Angus burgers are relatively expensive and even more disgusting than their 'regular' counterparts.

I admit to liking MacDonalds Banana Milkshakes. Also I have a feeling I am the only Brit who mourned the loss of "Rootbeer" when they withdrew it from the UK Smiley: frown

This.

They're burgers. I swear, for a place that sells ninety-kajillion burgers a day it's funny how many people swear they never eat there.

I have to admit, when I saw the commercials for their mushroom & Swiss 1/3 pound burgers last night, I had to sit up and take notice.

OMFG The UK doesn't have rootbeer!!?? No wonder they're so f*cked up. If I have to live a life w/o rootbeer floats I might as well go jump off a cliff.

Given an option, I'd rather eat at any of the other four (soon to be five) places that sell substantially similar products in town.

I would like to know why we have 11 fast-food burger places (plus a Jack In The Box coming around the middle or end of the month), five Subways, and four Quizno's in a town of right around 90k, though.

I'm in love with Jack In The Box right now, I hadn't been there til recently but their smoothies are great and I love their little mini sandwich thingies. I always get really good coupons for them, too, so I'm probably going to quit McDonalds altogether. :D

Quark: And you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it.
Elim Garak: It's insidious.

I never thought I'd say this, but... move to the UK please?

Only kidding. We have to play chess first.

I haven't eaten there in about eight years, but I remember having to eat my milkshake with a spoon. I find their whole "we're classy - no, seriously!" thing funny, but it seems like a tolerable place to eat for a carnivore.

Well, I really don't. I might stop in once or twice a year, but I always get some form of chicken sandwich. Honestly, I have no idea what a McDonald's burger even tastes like.

I just came back from a week in San. F...

If In-n-Out was a woman, I would do horrible, dirty things with her.

It's a wonderful place, with some of the best burgers I've ever had.

I tried all three...horrible. The bun is wrong, the burger is flavorless...I'm just not impressed.

I'll stick with Hardees.

I have a few British friends who begged me to send them rootbeer in the mail...

Also, I'll take this opportunity to link the China thread with this one and say that McDonald's is one of the best restaurants in China. It's expensive as hell and is a real restaurant instead of fast food. Pizza Hut and Papa John's are also fashioned into expensive style restaurants like what you would save up to take a date on or go to for a fancy business meal.

It's "Western," so it's expensive. Go figure. The GF still doesn't understand how cheap it is in the States.
