Wooooot! I finished my very last course for my degree today. I've already started my job, but up till now I've had to say well, I'm almost an engineer, there's that one annoying business elective. Well, now I'm done and I'm celebrating with a purely self-centered thread! Yeeeeeeee-Ha!

Tomorrow I get to hurry up and continue working. But tonight Smiley: chug Smiley: chug Smiley: yippee Smiley: yippee Smiley: boozingSmiley: boozingSmiley: yippee Smiley: yippee

Now the question: Are you really an engineer? Or a Computer Scientist masquerading as an engineer?

The litmus test: When setting down to develop a program or design a small system, do you step back, look at it analytically, create a logic-decision flowchart, and then take a step by step approach to coding it. Or do you dive right in and do it in your head as you go?

Congrats! That is something to be proud of so you should be thrilled!

Are you going to walk across the stage and do the whole commencement thing?

I'm an engineer, because I'm not afraid to adjust my methods to suit the problem Smiley: tongue

@nexa I love xkcd Smiley: grin

because of my messed up schedule, if I want to walk across the stage I'll do that in september. In Canada we have a ceremony called the ritual calling of an engineer. It was written by rudyard Kipling, and is a sending out of new engineers. You get an iron ring, and I've always thought of that as my actual graduation ceremony, so we'll see.
