I been really tired of varus BS lately and have been rating him down lots. Apparently others have too as it looks like he's almost ready to slip below the surface.

But honestly, is it not Varus that brings all together here under the 'fighting for a common cause' clause?

Will the forum go to bloody boring hell again if Varus is silenced - even temporarily (cuz you know eventually he'd be back)?

Should I start rating him back up?

My favorite part is when he starts getting sexual and I get that creepy oily dude vibe. Everyone needs a varrus on their message board. He's much better than Failmon.

I actually find it pretty pathetic that we need *him* to come together. I mean, we still have gbaji...
Maybe I should download his posts and have them converted to speech and listen to them while I'm driving for work. that should be a good way to kill a few hours.

Huh. I was still rating him up.

I thought we had this decided months ago? Once he gets to unrated it gets annoying and is rather like talking to yourself when you argue. Makes you look crazy, not him. Seemed silly, so we decided to keep him rated up above the filter.

Why rate anything at all? I rarely do. It's just way too much trouble to move my mouse over to those arrows.

I enjoy rating since the inception of the lil arrows. It would be nice to see the corresponding NUMBERS though.

I can't believe you people actually discuss this.

Varrus is pretty creepy. You know he has ladies' fingers scattered all over his land?

The only thing that makes rating fun is when you literally change the poster's color and/or status. Nothing like dropping a sage down to scholar.

I rate Varus up whenever I see his posts sub-default (unless they're really, really bad). Reading a thread that's just a bunch of responses to his no-rated posts sucks, although it can be fun sometimes to guess what his posts might have been. I give Varus a lot of credit for the effort he puts in to keeping this place lively; sometimes it seems like he devolves into more of a caricature than a logical, rational being just to keep threads alive (see: his automatic weapons thread).

If Varus is actually a frumpy old lesbian living in Topeka, KS like Anna suggested once, then my hat goes off to him her for being one of the most epic trolls ever.

That's the problem, most of you guys have come together too much, or at least have exhausted whatever minor political or philosophical differences that you have by hashing them out years ago. I miss those 20 page threads where Smash and Joph used to go at each other arguing about religion, or Anna trying to psychoanalyze BT while he found different ways to get under her skin. Gbaji's too wordy and dry, Varus is too dumb, and Totem's too busy hunting gazelle from his helicopter in Africa to provide good conservative counterpoints for you guys to argue against. We need a good liberal-on-liberal cage match to mix things up a bit.

You unify people like 9/11 did...

Ah well, if it makes you happy about yourself it's all good.

I have several ideas about why Varrus keeps posting here.

1) He is Jophiel's sock. Our very own gun toting okra farmer is nothing more than Joph's attempt to assimilate us into the folds of the world-wide liberal conspiracy by bringing us closer through our leftist ideals and rallying us together against a common enemy.

2) He is actually a high ranking Chinese government agent here to sow dissent amongst the more Socialist-inclined citizens of western nations by turning them against the most base and stereotypical portrayal of a conservative American ******** Ni hao, comrade.

3) As a baby he was loaded into a rocket by his father to save him from the destruction of his home planet, Reagan. He arrived here on Earth to be raised by his adoptive parents, an aging okra farmer and his submissive wife in the bible belt of 1970's America. As a teenager he learned of his true powers, and uses them to troll internet forums without being permanently banned by disinterested posters and admins. His only weaknesses are the mysterious substances of Reagonite and logic.

I've ruled out #3, since I have no proof that Reaganite is real. The authorities won't let me exhume the body of Reagan to prove, or disprove my theory that his body reverted to the purest form of Reaganite possible.

I usually rate him up when he has the right idea. Even though sometimes he brings it up and keeps it up in the completely wrong way. That's what Gbaji is for. Addings facts.
