Never read the books and only seen bits of the movies when my kid was watching them on video.

It was okay. Hard to feel too invested when you're watching part... 6 of 7? of a series you've never seen. Harry should have totally hooked up with the weird albino chick 'cause she was the best thing in the movie.

I haven't read any of the books, but I saw the first 5 movies and while none were incredible, they were entertaining enough and I was able to follow what was going on. This was the first one in the series I've seen where I really had no ******* clue what was going on half the time, and the plot just seemed completely disjointed and rushed. Maybe there was just too much in the book to be able to fit adequately into a movie, but this is the first one where I regretted paying to see it in the theater.

I have seen all the movies to date minus this half blood one and read all the books.

The third movie was absolutely horrid and the only one I dont own that has been sent to dvd. I have never seen a book butchered worse. The other felt like they were trying their best to capture the essence and still left out parts that I found memorable. I can say the same for the LotR triolgy all felt like they captured the essecne, although I think the end although it felt like the book as I remember it was like ok this is the end time to go, err wait no this is, err wait no @#$##% I give up I am sitting here til credits roll.

Actually I take that back Starship Troopers was in no way shape or form like the book but I enjoyed both book and movie. I suppose if the book is obscure enough and old enough it is ok to say ok we have the liscence to the name and to hell with it =P

my daughter has read all of the books several times over so while not a really big fan of kiddie fantasy movies, it was ok. compared to the last 5 however, it was the worst story and action wise.

spent way way too much time on the giggely comming of age boyfriend/girlfriend stuff and way way too little time on action or story line advencement. most of us really do not care if hermiley ever gets with the red head kid or not anymore, they have dragged out that little drama way too long to get any millage out of it any more. and why does harry get the ugly one? sister is a serious 2 bagger. the chick he stood up in the beginning of the show was much better looking.

they could have cut an hour out of the "love boat" scenes and even if they did not add anything in place of it people would have been happier.

what happened to harry? every one is whipping his **** with one hand tied behind their backs. he is getting punked by everyone he comes up against except malfoyd.

the only outstanding part was dumbeldorf roasting the undeads in the cavern, and by the way harry was getting punked by them too. nothing outstanding at all with the rest of the movie.

see it if you have seen the rest, skip it if you havent. as far as the series i give it a 1 out of 6. as a movie, a 6 out of 10. wait for the dvd rental. rent it too, it is not worth buying.

Slate Magazine calls this movie "90210 with Owls" which made me laff. haven't decided whether to see it or not when I get home.

This is the best critical review I have ever read.

Sure, but get shadowrelm started on his Boosh adminstration conspiracy theories and "best critical review" quickly turns into a wild and rambling rant of a Ted Kaczynski clone complete with lack of hygiene and long winded manifestos. Don't get drawn in by his aimiable Roger Ebert impression. It's just a trick to get you to stand still long enough to get mesmerized by his Bela Lugosi eyes.

Trust me on this.
