To get your beta key visit this link.

To know more about what the hell I'm talking about click here for our preview and here for an interview that we conducted with the team.

I'd want to roleplay as a 40-story Art Deco apartment complex, with a coffee shop in the lobby.

Actually this is the only forum I posted this in. I figured I'd share it with the Asylum crew as you guys tend to be brutally honest.

I'll give it a shot. I love SimCity, so we'll see if I'm equally bad at this one.

While the idea seems kinda cool and intriguing I don't know if it'll last. How will it really do with end-game and replay value? This is one problem I have with games like SimCity, The Sims, etc. I enjoy the gameplay but it sorta gets repetitive pretty quickly, moreso than the usual MMO grind. I do enjoy the building and designing part of these games more than the maintaining part. I think I'll sign up and give it a try since I'm not currently playing anything right now.

I might be interested in buying it but if it's a subscription based MMO I doubt it. I don't think there will be enough content to justify a monthly fee.

Or maybe not. I downloaded it and installed it twice and I get a runtime error when I try to start it. Meh.

ETA: Found the problem, seems to be working now

End game happens after you cover the planet with an urban carpet and use up all the resources. You must advance to mars where you battle space creatures for territory. Requires the combined efforts of many nations. Sounds like a lot of potential to me.

My first impressions so far. I can get about 1.5 hours of gameplay in before the game becomes incredibly unresponsive (fps dropped 3). When it gets to that point all I can do is shutdown and reboot. Now I got a decent rig, back in my wow days I could max all the graphics, and run with 200+ addons and still get 30-40fps in Dalaran. I can't get anyone else to confirm this same issue with me, but I think DX9 or a memory leak is to blame.

Today they released v210 and a new planet. I got on the new planet fast before all the nice grassy fuel spots are taken. I started building my city up and the game froze 3 times in a matter of five minutes (last freeze is because the server crash apparently). Overall I think its a change of pace from the conquer the world type games, but not worth paying what ever the conversion rate of 7 euros (one site said 9.99USD) per month.

Its early though, and if anyone else in the beta my name is themajority and I am on Titania.

I'm far too lazy to download it and try it out. That, and I don't like city building games to begin with.

lol me either, but this has been surprisingly fun so far. I was never any good at Sim City, all my cities would end up in severe debt and I would end up going diaster crazy on the city lol.

What kind of system specs do you have SimpleMajority? I'm not having any of the problems you are. There are definitely memory leaks that exist but the game hasn't crashed or frozen on me.

AMD 64x2 5400+
4gb (2x2gb) DDR2 800mhz
ATI Radeon 3870HD OC
250+160gb SATA HD
Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium (fully updated with latest drivers)

problems I am having like many I have talked to is a severe slow down of fps as the city grows larger. I am currently able to play the game for about 10-15 minutes before the fps becomes so unbearable that it might as well be frozen. I have submitted my DxDiag to Monte Cristo and they are looking into it.

Additionally, I shut down any non-essential programs (as with any beta test) so I can eliminate them as being a possible cause. Personally I think the game is trying to load the entire world into the memory, but I know it is something else. I just don't have the means of figuring that out.

Game play issues I am having atm is getting the execs to stay in the city. I have been working my **** off trying to build qualified workers satisfaction up to 40% (I heard someone say that its the only way to make the city attractive for the execs), but everytime I get one area up in the higher percentages another area decreases lol. I heard the elites being called the emo elites because they are next to impossible to attract to the city.
