I disagree. Ledgers Joker was the best portrayal of a villain i've ever seen. I've never watched brokeback mountain and never will.

Van Zant is in because he ushered in a part of America which to that point was either ignored or reviled since the beginning of what I would consider modern culture: the Deep South. He made being a Southerner cool.

No he didn't. ****** Betts did. HE was the one that all but invented Southern Rock, and has not really recieved nearly enough credit for it.

Dunno, I've only met him very briefly twice, and he was cooler than cool to me.

Always nice to hear. I don't know that he has the raw talent that Allman had; but I don't know that many people do.

I assume you're referring to Duane. We can only speculate about what Duane might have become, but like Lennon and McCartney, the talents of D.Allman and Betts complimented each other extraordinarily well. Almost all of my favorite Allman Brothers' songs were written by Betts (purely a matter of personal opinion, I know), and he and Duane usually played matching lead lines, so I have no problem at all placing them on a par.

Yeah. Gregg Allman is a fine musician, but not in his brother's class.

/aside

Interesting how the right wingers who claim not be homophobic are the ones most disgusted by a movie that, by the way, happens to contain more explicit female nudity than male.

Not as interesting as how left wingers who claim to respect and admire diverse opinions and viewpoints are the first to apply loathsome labels to anyone who doesn't like the same things they like.

Only people not in this post I think need a mention are GG Allen, Johny Ramone, & Brad Nowell.

And for actors I think I should mention the little girl from Poltergeist.

That auspicious entertainer aside, who would you place in your top 3 of entertainers (music, film, art, and dance) who died before we were ready to see them slip this mortal coil? I submit to you that John Belushi, Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Elvis are the world's best to have kicked the bucket. Obviously, should I pass on to those pearly gates my name would immediately jump to the top of the list for the work I have accomplished here on this board. Fortunately for all of you, I remain healthy, wealthy, and wise.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Elvis isn't dead, neither is Micheal.

Micheal decided to go into outerspace with Bubbles.

I blame it on the Liberal Media.

Oh

Rueben Kee

Most people won't have any idea who that was. He is, well known enough in some circles, however, that I feel okay mentioning him.

He did some ridiculously good remixes of songs from games, to the point that they were often magnitudes better than the original compositions.

Can't believe no one said Tupac ( although he has produced more albums now that he is dead )

And Eazy E...grew up in LA listening to him,NWA, Ice T, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, etc...with the success Cube and Dre had, would have been interesting to see what he would have done.

My third is Stevie Ray...
