Dammit, Tare. I just got home from work, and already the highlight of my evening is foiled.

Poor Farrah, she couldn't even get top billing in death. Moreover, Ryan O'Neal gets to skate on his promise to marry her, lol. Heh, he calculates that if he says, "I do!" it'd only last for a couple of weeks at the most, so he dodged the bullet there.

No marriage, got the chocolate starfish cancer, and then Jackson dies. Girlfriend can't catch a break!

:(

Apparently a few hundred people are outside his house holding a vigil.

Perhaps someone should tell them that he is not in?

The Guy made some good music 20 years ago, his later stuff was pathetic and desperate pop drivel and whether he was guilty of certain acts or not his image was tarnished in the public eye time and time again. He will be remembered by thousand upon thousand of people as being a pop genuis but millions and millions of people will remember him as a good act but a sick puppy.

Why this is news worthy in my country I dont know. People die of suspected Heart attacks every day, dont see them splattered all over the front page. Sad sad world we live in when celebrity becomes more important than real people and problems.

You know on the radio earlier I heard one American nutcase fan state that "I cannot believe he is gone, I thought he would live forever, I thought he would never die, I thought he was immortal", I have news for you and that little deluded brain rolling around in the vast cavern of your skull, he was human, like the rest of us and was going to die at some point.

So goodbye Mr Jackson, my sympathies to your family.

Now will someone please tell those idiots holding a vigil and weeping over him to go home and stop wasting their lives trying to get 20 seconds of fame on telly by crying their heart out over how they loved him. Sad really isn't it.

What's wrong with grieving? I don't care that he's dead, I don't care for his music. But honestly he was a human (although that could probably be contested) and he died. Grieving is natural and there's nothing wrong with paying respects in whichever way someone sees fit. I think it's getting too much air time, etc, but it's not unexpected.
#12REDACTED, Posted: Jun 26 2009 at 8:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think the official cause of death was food poisoning. Something about him eating a 12 year old wiener?

Nothing wrong with paying your respects, maybe I can help by keeping you informed as to the latest:

McDonalds are bringing out the MCJackson burger in memory of Michael. 50 year old meat between two ten year old buns.

Reports suggest that Michael didn't actually go stiff until they wheeled him past the childrens ward.

When the Paramedics arrived they found class A drugs in the kitchen and class 4B in his bedroom.

I heard he tripped over his kids pram. Doctors are blaming it on the buggy.

Michael Jackson was refused entry into Heaven, he asked God why this should be. God replied
'Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the moonlight, don't blame it on the good times, blame it on the buggery'.

Some believe it was food poisoning. Apparently he ate 12 year old nuts.

Michael phoned the paramedics about his illness, they sdaid 'How sick are you' He said 'I'm in bed with McCauly Culkin, how sick is that'?

Apparently thay are melting him down into plastic bags so he'll still be a danger to children.

That's all I have for now, if someone could keep me informed as to whether or not he melted, who was the father of his children, and who will now take care of Bubbles his monkey, then that would give me some peace of mind in light of these tragic events.

And once again, Morganne, you manage to demonstrate why the general consensus around here is that you're a stupid ****.

Since yesterday afternoon, I've been trying to elucidate why Michael Jackson's passing does--and should--in some way matter, and I have been having a hard time doing it because it's been such a long time since he's been at his peak that it's easy to forget why he was ever relevant in the first place. Then I watched last night's So You Think You Can Dance and Nigel Lythgoe managed to put into words (around 5:54) the thoughts that have been fluttering around the edge of my ability to verbalize.

Love his music or hate it, opine what you will about the scandals that marked his later career, he was a man who changed the face of music and dance forever in some very significant ways. He had an impact. He made a difference.

Does his passing move me personally? No, not beyond a "aww, shucks, now I'm feeling old" kind of way. But I respect the contribution he made, the innovations he brought. The passing of someone who accomplished what he did should not just be dismissed.

Regardless of what has been said about this man, he was an Icon. A great person overall, and I have always been a fan of his music, since I was young.

What has been bothering me lately about this situation is that the family clearly asked for Privacy and the media has NO respect for this family at all, which we could have imagined from jump. I mean, sitting outside the Morge (spelling) just to find out when his body is leaving that position is just ridiculous.

RIP.

Lame jokes are still lame, even when you post them a second time with a sock puppet.
#18 Jun 26 2009 at 7:06 PM Rating: Default
I'm not a sock puppet. Just because some dude coincidentally named Asoka posted jokes and I did too doesn't mean shiat. I was on Fark, saw some jokes there, stole them, thought I'd join the party. I'm sorry if the other poster is someone who does use a sock but I don't. I do confess to dancing on this bastards grave and am deeply unrepentant about that and if it's bothersome I will leave the thread. I'm very new and I'm sure that I am unique enough to clear that misconception up with time if I choose to stay on this board.

I'm a sock puppet and someone else is a ****...hmmm...hope your day gets better!

Peace!

#20REDACTED, Posted: Jun 28 2009 at 11:19 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hmmm dont ever recall calling you a stupid **** or denying you the opportunity to air your opinion, i dont seem to remember me ******** about his whole career and what he did or did not contribute, i did not even mention specifically the things he was accused for, in fact all i did was mention that I find it pretty deplorable that someone famous should get airtime for his death rather than the millions of normal people who make this world tick.
