Still, I'm home finally and very glad to have made it through the weekend alive. Sometime between my last online post and Jonwin getting home, I started to feel tired, then ill and then soon in pain due to cramps, that I expected to pass after spending some time sitting on the toilet. I expected to have to screams a bit, sweat a lot and then once the IBS attack was over go on with my day as normal.
Daughter and her boyfriend were over as he worked on putting in new breakers for the whirlpool tub and dryer. She came up to try to comfort me when I started screaming out in pain. getting me water, bucket to vomit in and a stool to lean against, as I prayer that the cramps would soon be over.
Instead, she ended up trying to get me to go to the ER, but having gone though all this before I didn't feel it was needed. Instead I had them go buy me some bed pads and put me to bed, since I was too weak to continue to sit on the toilet.
They got me into my bed with me just fainting once. Making sure I had a large bottle of water, and my cell phone, before they went home.
The next few hours I seem to remember trying to drink some water and sit up long enough to hope I could make it all the way to the bathroom in time. All I ended up doing was moving my head from the foot of the bed, to other end.
Jonwin came home at his normal time and found me passed out on the bed covered in *****, called 911 and tried to get me clean up some put clothes on me. The EMt's had to carry me down the steps and onto the stretcher. I didn't care about being covered by then then, as I kept passing out. Soon I had 2 very large IV needles on both of my arms inside the elbows and being rushed to the closest ER. The first time the EMT's tried to take my Blood pressure, it was 70 over, something too low to hear. I nomally have HBP that is is between 120 to 135 over 80 to 90, under control with medication.
While I was cursing the size needles they had used, during the rest of the time I was at the hospital, I can understand why they did, having wanted to pump me with fluids as fast as they could. I couldn't bend my arms without the needles making me painfully aware of them. By last night they had put over 12 units of saline solution in me. Once at the hospital, I was admitted by the surgical team to a private room, were I was to be monitor constantly. Jonwin had to go home before I got a room, since he had to wash sheets and mop the floor. Once my BP was high enough, they gave me morphine for the pain. I wasn't allow any food or drink at first and then only ice chips until last night. I actually for once was happy to be able to get liquids for lunch and dinner today. Broth, Jello and Sherbet never tasted so good. I don't expect to want more then some pho for the next few days. That is if I can keep, more then the rice noodles and broth down. I actually wished I hadn't had the catheter taken out this morning, but had waited until after they had unhooked me from all the monitors. Using a bed pan after every few ounces, is far worst then the catheter. Tomorrow I hope to have the shower chair up in my bathroom and get all the sticky junk off my body. Still I may end up using the portable tiolet, while we have new flooring tiles put in the bathroom. Jonwin went to get rest of the things needed to finish my bathroom this week, while I rest here at home.
My hands are covered with bruises where they tried to get enough blood from me to do tests. Bu this morning I was so sleep deprived and itching from all the tape and leads stuck on my body to be willing to do anything to get well. I did worry some about them giving me Heparin so not to develop clouts in my legs, while I had to lay there for 3 nights, but in the end, only one of the 2 IV's wanted to bleed for an extra minute or two.
Okay, I need to go lay down and have Jonwin edit my mistakes later for me. this was too long, but darn I didn't plan to get this sick, while the state is looking into cutting days they will pay for hospitalization.
