A typical tree hugging hippy is more compassionate than you; they may be stupid and naive for being so, but they still have a higher degree of compassion, whether or not it's justified.

Yeah it is. It's perfectly fine to put conditions on your compassion. It's contradictory though to assert that, by putting limits on your compassion, that you're actually being more compassionate than someone who doesn't. You may be smarter than someone who suffers fools, but you sure as hell are not more compassionate.

That too, but it is kind of a consistent thing. I was more getting at that there's only one way to approve of the president. For disapproval, there are at least two ways: "zomg he's a socialist!" versus. "so obama, when are you gonna start with the socialism huh?"
I can't really say "I told you so", because I never did in a post. But I've been saying he's a socialist the entire time. And considering what kind of a hole he's digging himself into, it won't be pretty. Having 12 trillion national debt (about the same as it was), but with the toxic assets etc., he's up at about 100 trillion dollars in debt. Which looks like an economy saver to me. I don't see that saving your economy (or mine for that matter, if only trade weren't so important).
