Sure, if you count repeating fourth grade twice as studying history for three years.

I think that's what I just said, but in a slightly more pretentious and aloof way Smiley: mad

I've never studied History but I have watched a lot of the History Channel.

Ask me a question about the Lost Prophecies of Nostradomus or the Search for Chupacabra, I dare you.

Hang, on. I'm going to need to complete this research on the locked mysteries of the Shroud of Turin first.

I've never actually posted here before, but I was just browsing and saw the name Publius Varrus. I'm a graduate student in Classics (Greek and Latin). Publius Varus is probably the biggest military failure in all of Roman History. At least the OP seems to have chosen his user name appropriately.

Olde, I called this long ago.

Apparently I shouldn't have turned the History Channel off after that Search for Sasquatch special.

Yeah but publius varus created excalibur and help found camulod; a shining example of truth and justice in an age renowned as being dark. It says so in the camulod chronicles; true story.

I know right? He had the god damn Excalibur and still manages to ruin everything he touches.

I wasn't speaking of the fictional character or roman general then.

Dwizy,

Remind me again how publius varus "ruined" everything he touched?

Well apart from doing a Bush-esque lousy PR job in Judea (crucifying random locals rarely makes you popular) and losing 3 of Rome's finest legions in Germany, he probably had his moments.

Not sure Augustus ever saw the bright side though.

ITT: Varus proves that he values fiction over fact. Kind of shows why he likes Fox News so much.

Protip: When TLW references multiple things with the same name, the one being referenced is mutable. It's like my humour, but not phlegm.
