What a f*cking ****ole.

This isn't your piece of sh*t desk that you don't mind trashing. This is the presidents desk.

I know it's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but he actually has the Constitution in between his shoes and the desk, so it won't get scuffed.

The Declaration of Independence is folded up and placed under the coffee cup as a coaster. He would have used the Bill of Rights, but that was already disposed of after being used to housebreak the puppy he got for his daughters.

EDIT: Varrus. Seriously. Is this even an issue? You get so fired up over the SMALLEST things having to do with Obama. Slick Willy got a humjob from underneath that desk. George Dubya played with his Duplo blocks on that desk. That desk has been sat on, spilled on, tripped over, scratched, refinished, modified, and believe it or not... refurbished.

If you get this upset over Obama propping his feet up on his desk, wait until you find out he's actually a black man!

Yes, let's hope Obama spends more time caring for his office furniture instead of, oh-I-don't-know, concentrating on affairs of state.

Good call!

You know who else put his feet up on the desk? Andrew Jackson.

Do you even know which desk he's using, since you're caterwauling about the history of it?

I hope the desk has a worn spot on it from all the presidents, that have put their feet up and been able to have a moment to relax between affairs of state.

To us who actually care about their health, I'm glad if they are able to take a moment of their day to put their feet up and relieve some of the stress they are under. Having watch presidents visibly age faster, during their years in office, it's a blessing that so few have became ill and died of stress related illnesses, in office.

Stop trying to find things wrong with the current administration and give it a rest before you have a stoke. A positive attitude does wonders for you health.Smiley: smile

personally I would hope you'd realize that it's not a big deal, and not something to get all worked up about. I mean for goodness sake W used it as a photo op, celebrating putting his feet on the desk.

We don't want to hear most of the things you say. What keeps us entertained is how you don't let things like facts, research, logic, and common sense interfere with what you have to say. Actually, it isn't so much what you have to say or how you say that keeps us entertained; it's utterly and irrevocably proving you misinformed and wrong that keeps us entertained.

It's a desk. If we wanted it kept pristine, it'd be in a glass box in the Smithsonian rather than being used in what is essentially a business office.

Their replica of the Resolute Presidents Desk is exact down to the screws. It even has the secret compartment made famous by JFK Jr.

******** . It's not a bloody secret compartment - its a hinged front panel ordered by Franklin Roosevelt to hide his wheelchair . Sadly, he carked it before it could be added to the desk , but Truman had it installed anyway .

He also hasn't changed the office decor from W yet, which is the President's right, probably because he has more pressing things on his mind than worrying about the state of his office furniture.

The issue wasn't that he only had his feet up on the desk. Supposedly he was talking to a middle eastern big whig at the time and some crackpot took it as an insult because he was showing the bottom of his shoes.

But yes. Grasping at straws is the best way to put it.
