After starting off with JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and Tamora Pierce, I read the Belgariad and thought "Hrm". Then I moved on to the Mallorean and gave up in disgust after two or three books.
At least he was better than Terry Brooks.

Well it's pretty sad whenever anyone takes their life. I liked Caine and the Kung Fu series. It always had some catchy little life lesson that made me ponder things for a half-sec. I also was throughly entertained by the Kill Bill movies.
