Body of Stacy Pterson possibly found.

Just to jog some memories; Stacy Peterson is the missing wife of Drew Peterson. He's the one going through court for murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. Anyways, a body was found in an Ill. river today, their hoping DNA proves to be Stacy's. I'm thinking this will be the final nail in Drew's coffin if this body turns up to be Stacy. I would like to dream that she really ran off with another man but I feel pretty confidant that Drew killed her. I hope this brings closure to her and the other womens families.

Oh, you don't need to remind me. Omnipresent around these parts.

I actually parked next to Peterson's house last fall on some unrelated business matter. His yard was full of flowers, posters, crosses, yadda yadda which I'm guessing people continue to deposit there on a regular basis.

You also still see "Where's Stacy Peterson?" fliers posted around the area. Which is a little depressing because my immediate thought every time is "decomposing at the bottom of the Cal-Sag canal in all likelihood".

Really? That is sad. I guess you would hold out hope until you were proven wrong. No one wants to know their loved one was murdered and left to rot somewhere. Smiley: frown

I got this mixed up with a different story. Stacy Peterson and Laci Peterson are too similar. Scott's a ******* and Drew probably is too.

Yeah, I knew the current Peterson is under investigation related to the somewhat mysterious drowning death (in a dry bathtub, no less) of his second wife. As we know from the last Peterson aSShole wife murderer, it's possible to get a conviction without a body but not easy.

Peterson was recently arrested for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, who had drowned in a bathtub. Her death was initially ruled accidental but her body was exhumed and re-autopsied during the investigation into Staci Peterson's disappearance. According to someone I heard on the radio, Savio had a cut on the back of her head and, even exhumed, showed signs of 'fresh' bruises on her body.

Staci Peterson was his fourth wife and, if the article is correct, was found in the Des Plaines river. Which makes more sense than my guess since bodies in the Des Plaines probably get eaten by fish whereas the pollutants in the Cal-Sag turn its corpses into shambling, vengance-seeking revenants.

Who gives a fuck? One post about an ******* wife killer, fine. A new post when they find a dead wife's body? Why? Oh boy, this is important news, the guy who's going to be convicted and sentenced to life for an unrelated murder might be convicted and sent to jail for double dog life for this one!

I read Robert Parker. I told Nexa how awful the writing was, but she foolishly read some of one anyway. I almost lost her that day.

Yeah, I can't really tolerate his writing. It's too bad, too - the story lines are tolerable, as far as I remember.

Trying to remember who else is like that, too, where I just end up thinking, "Why didn't you just give this idea to someone who could write a coherent novel?"

True story, my favorite audio book of all time is Burt Reynold's reading some Spencer book. It's fantastic because Reynolds clearly listened to someone who told him to voice Hawk like character in a 30s minstrel show with a crazy high pitched voice.

That's a shame, then, if she couldn't finish the ******* off herself.

I, too, get all these Peterson folks mixed up. Didn't Dean Cain play one of them in a made-for-tv movie?

And the third wife and that braindead woman from a few years back. News media overload, I guess.

My old roomate's last name was Peterson.

His dog since he was a teenager was named Laci.

We dog sat for a weekend when his parents went away somewhere & when they came to pick it up, we were coming back from the store/dog walking and his mom called for the dog. The dog ran right past her & kept going. She yelled, "Laci Peterson, you get back here!"

The neighbors were horrified.

They were probably horrified that she called the dog by its first and last name.

The media hook was that Drew Peterson was a police sargeant in one of the Chicago suburbs at the time of Stacy's disappearance.

You know, if it's true that many serial killers seek to associate themselves with law enforcement... you have to wonder how many slip through the screening process.

My guess would be more than a couple, but it's probably a bigger problem in other countries with a more military police tradition.
