Depends on where your daily routine takes you. When I rode the bus to work downtown & regularly strolled through the skyways and down the city sidewalks, bombardment of religious diatribes & invitations to church were commonplace events. Now I live in the boondocks where it's a little more internalized.

Sure. But whether something is a "religious diatribe" is kinda subjective, isn't it?

A more relevant comparison is the following:

How many times have you heard/read someone argue that someone else's position on something is wrong because they don't believe that God built the earth in 7 days?

How many times have you heard/read someone argue that someone else's position on something is wrong because they *do* believe that God built the earth in 7 days?

One of those things occurs many times more often than the other.

Sort of like the number of times taxes have been raised during Democratic presidencies?

I bet you walk into doors, too, huh?

Lots

Most of the former comes from real life. Most of the latter comes from the internet.

You must hang out with some really strange people then.

I suspect that you're stretching the interpretation a bit. I'm not talking about a broad disregard or distrust of people who are not religious. I'm saying someone who literally believes that any position you might hold on any issue is wrong because you don't agree that God created the Earth in 7 days (or some other equally dogmatic religious belief).

I say this because the opposite argument seems to creep up a whole lot. I've lost count of the number of times a political position I hold has been attacked, not on the basis of the position, but purely because it's held by people who are religious and those people believe in stuff like Creationism, so therefor my position must be wrong. Usually accompanied with a clever zinger like "how does it feel to have ignorant people agree with you?".

Hundreds of times. Just on this forum. Heck. I'm pretty sure we can find an example of this just in posts from the last week or so. It's rampantly common.

Pardon? Are you arguing that taxes have been raised under Democratic presidents more than there are news stories about Democratic presidents raising taxes?

Or were arguing that the frequency of news stories in relation to actual events is a pointless fucking arguing position?

Let me know.

I reckon this has occurred maybe twice in the last five years. Possibly less.

I live in georgia. It would be even more common if I wasn't near atlanta.

Just a note about the title of this thread: The Koran plagerized whole portions of the Bible, or more correctly, the Torah. Isaiah, among other books, is ripped off almost verbatim and is not credited with attribution, nor does Big Mo let his reader know that Judaism is the foundation of his new religion.

Just sayin'.

Given that you didn't even make that comparison in your statement, no. I think it's a safe bet that when I said you need to get back on your meds, it was in response to a post that was so far out of left field it was sitting on a park bench across a fence, past the parking lot outside the stadium, chowing down on a hotdog...

Nope, direct analog. Situationaly identical. You're arguing the media over-reports something that happens in frequently, I presented something that also happens infrequently, and is overreported. Sadly, for you, your argument revolves around what you'd like to be true and not what the facts are so you're exceptionally prone to hypocrisy.

If you'd like to explain the distinction between the two situations, aside from your political feelings on them, obviously, please do.

I won't hold my breath, hypocrite.
