And my Friday thread.

Busy weekend here. Highlights include getting some jewelry appraised for sale, taking junk to the dump, Artsplosure in downtown Raleigh, berating the lawn guy, selling a crib, getting a haircut and starting the deck reconstruction.

Just an average, totally ******** weekend. Hah!

Working all weekend here. And if I wasn't working, it's supposed to rain the whole time and drop down into the 60's for highs (WTF?) so I doubt I'd be doing much anyway.

Wifey has a bridal shower to go to tomorrow morning, so it's just me and the lil miss until the afternoon. After that, going to hit a 3:25pm showing of Star Trek (Yay!). Raiding tomorrow evening with the wifey.

This weekend is looking like a total washout up here in Mass. If we get a few spots of sunshine on Sunday I'm going to rush through mowing the lawn. Otherwise, we were going to have a early dinner/late lunch with some family...doin' the grill thing. But someone pissed me off yesterday and I'm pulling the plug on that. I'll do something Memorial day weekend and invite some folks, though. Otherwise, sweats & a T-shirt for Sunday and relaxing with my feet up.

Hopefully finish the final purchases for the arrival of the lil guy. I've got to get the Matrix cleaned and inspected as we have friends flying down next weekend and will be borrowing it instead of renting a car. Probably read a bit, maybe go swimming with the kids.

Tonight, cleaning, packing for weekend. Saturday, off to check out my sister's new house and celebrate Mother's Day belatedly with lobster. Saturday afternoon, evening, continue down to Massachusetts for Smasharoo time. Sunday we're probably going to the zoo, depending on weather. Monday I have a job interview. Monday afternoon, evening, returning home.

Guenny and I will be moving into her grandmother's house for approximately the next two weeks to take care of her after she undergoes an operation on her shoulder this morning. So you won't have me to kick around for awhile. Well you might, just not as often.

Not sure what we're up to. Flea wants to go to some Native American pow-wow type thingie but she might balk when she learns how much of a drive it'll be. Then there's the omnipresent yard work. I have to admit though that Flea's fixed the front yard up right pretty and it looks more "finished" now than it ever did under my oppressive reign.

Going to spend a good part of it finishing Caear

God the authors butt ugly but it's a d*mn good book.

Split wood until my back tells me to stop. Then when the pain subsides I'll take the dog jogging. Hopefully I'll loose 5lbs this weekend and work on my tan in the process.

No mowing or weed eating wohoo!

We rented Rome(the HBO series, not the city) this week and so I feel a disturbing kinship with where your mind is at present.

I think prudence would demand we pencil in an additional activity this weekend: toga shopping.

Not together mind you, because that'd be really dangerously gay. Well that, and for the most part I find you pretty repugnant.

I've been delaying an online course for a while due to life, however it really needs to get done, as I've just finished all my other courses, and so it is the last outstanding mark I need to graduate! Woot, I'll officially be an engineer!

Sleep is a big part of this weekend's agenda. I suspect Tristan is on the verge of a major developmental spurt, so he's been very restless at night. He starts out in his own bed but usually wakes around midnight and climbs into bed with us and then proceeds to toss and turn and flop all around on us. It doesn't seem to be bothering Mr. Ambrya that badly, but I haven't had a decent night's sleep in four days and not only am I getting extremely cranky, but prolonged lack of sleep frequently results in a migraine for me. So tomorrow when it's supposed to be sunny and in the low 80s, Mr. Ambrya is taking the boy to the zoo and I'm going to crash.

Aside from that, yard work is the order of the day. Our backyard has gotten unmanageable while we've been waiting for a break in the whether at a time when we can actually work on it.

Today I will take Elne to her DR. appointment, visit mom in hospital (back surgery), shop for groceries and do some laundry. I have already made breakfast and played a while in eq. Oh I also finished the latest Lois McMasters Bujold book in the Sharing Knife series. (It may be the last, which is ok if we get another Miles book soon.)
Back at Balticon 38 I had asked her in a question "You have written Science Fiction, a Mystery, and a Romance novel. When you will write a Western?"
She replied that she didnt have a lot of familiarity in that are. But with this series she has indeed covered a lot of the material/plot of a romance series and a western.
Tonight I may try to go to concert of Irish pipes.

Saturday and Sunday is work on the ship so I may get in some more shopping and eq play.

Next weekend Is Balticon 43! Elne and I busy from Thursday thru Monday.

I started this glorious Friday with a dream. We all got together for another Allafest, except Nexa had suddenly married some other guy and left Hannah with Smash. Everyone spent the whole gathering playing LotR.

Let me first say, Thank God it's Friday. What a ******* week it has been around here. Whenever the weather starts getting nice, people take it as their cue to beat the **** out of their kids apparently or to engage in other such illegal types of domestic behavior.

Anyways, tonight I'll have a few drinks after work. Tomorrow and Sunday, my mom is coming for the first part of her plan to help me pack up my stuff and move in a couple of months. We'll drink wine and go through my winter clothes. On Sunday, I think she wants to go to J.Jill and so we'll go to the Burlington Mall, which we often do anyway.

:P

I'll agree with Anna on what a ******* jacked up week this was.

Today: Work and get to the bottom of what my middle kid did so I can figure out how long he's going to be in juvenile hall. Because I am dropping his *** off to the police this time. Hopefully family movie night tonight after we straighten up and tidy the house. Maybe get a load of laundry in.

Tomorrow: 8 full hours of continuing legal education AGAIN. Afterwards, yardwork and house stuff.

Sunday: Church and more yardwork, housework and laundry.

I'm hoping that next week, I can get a lot of housework and yardwork done during the weeknights after I get off work so I can actually enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.

That guy would have a wonderful, albeit exceptionally short, life. I've been looking for a good excuse to teach Hannah to use a crossbow, you may be onto something here....
