Werther's Caramel Chocolates. Anyone tried them? For national brand name, grocery store shelf chocolates, these things are awesome. Incredibly creamy with just the right amount of caramelyness.

I think they're new, but maybe not. My grocery story was giving out samples - I went back for a second.

We've had them in store for at least a year now, and I still haven't tried any. My clothing size also says I should not eat candy until I have cut down on the amount I eat a lot.

I'm not much for caramels, but I will say I've had a hard time finding a name-brand dark chocolate that isn't bitter or dry, until I discovered Hershey's Extra-Dark (not to be confused with their "Special Dark" brand.) Excellent stuff, and generally not hard to find in the bars (I've yet to see a pouch of individual squares.)

You might want to try Michel Cluizel or Dolfin varieties for that. Dolfin is closer to Hershey's chocolates texture-wise, Michel Cluizel has the better texture and very interesting flavours imo. Both are sort of expensive, though.

Dark chocolate for me. The Ferrero Rocher dark chocolate pieces are my crack.

Ray loves the Cadbury caramel eggs. I buy as much of the overstock of those after Easter.

Damn, no Sam's Club here where I live, just Costco. Nonetheless, I will be checking it out.

How the hell is that possible? I live between two sam's clubs and four wal-marts. They are quickly becoming the new starbucks here, which btw there are 10 starbucks within 5 miles of my house.

Wal-Mart is not yet getting the foothold here in the Pacific Northwest that it gets in the midwest and south. They've been trying to put in a store a few miles from us for years and the neighborhood keeps banding together to block them by various means. The nearest Wal-Mart to us is over 13 miles away, which might not seem far, but it's on the other side of the metro area, which would basically mean a trip from the west-side 'burbs through downtown all the way to the east-side burbs, or the better part of an hour to drive it.

We have no Sam's Club whatsoever. However, Costco is pretty much the same thing and you can't throw a rock without hitting one of those, so no one misses it.

Only 10? There's a one-square-mile patch of land down the highway from us where I have counted 6 Starbucks. Three drive-thru and stand-alone stores, two mini-Starbucks inside grocery stores, and the Starbucks inside a Barnes & Noble Booksellers. In a single square mile. According to the Starbucks website, there are 30 stores within a 4 mile radius of my zip code.

I'm not usually one for desserts, but as I had the g/f and both boys for dinner on Sunday I made fresh Vanilla Ice Cream, stewed Strawberries (cooked down with cane sugar, red wine with a smidgen of black pepper and cinnamon) and a Chocolate Sauce (melted 200g of 85% Cocoa swiss chocolate and added cream and butter).

The chocolate sauce was unanimously agreed as the most decadent chocolate evarrr.

I did just suffer through a Hanson song though, so surely we know the real muses here.

My son-in-law makes me a Dark Chocolate Tort every year for my birthday, that I believe the FDA may classify as a level 5 drug.

First time Jonwin had some of this tort, he and a friend job about how it was illegal to sell on the street corners of Baltimore.

Con gets the originals. He likes coming to my specialist appointments bcz the doc has them in a bowl on the counter.

He is a natural magician. He palmed quite a few.

I like the soft caramel Worthers.

I make hot fudge sauce, for gifts and what-not, that sounds like a similar recipe, I bring it up beyond boiling though (so, constant stirring) simply to be able to jar it up and insure it keeps it's smooth, thick creamy consistancy over time(the butter can separate out and it gets runny).
