Just saying this due to fact that I want to share my pain.

I didn't need whips or chains to put me in this much pain this weekend. The doctor I saw increase my pain medicine and wrote me a script for a wheelchair. I need to see about renting scooter for Balticon 43.

All the walking and standing at a smaller hotel then where Balticon is held was too much for me. I did use the Baltimore SF Society's wheelchair, but all it did was create pain and bruising in arms instead of my legs.

I'll post pics once I find some online. My daughter and I didn't have time to take pictures with my camera phone.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain ElneClare. I hope the pain subsides after a period of healing with the correct medication and wheelchair.

I have to say though, I was expecting something different from the title of this thread.

Balticon 43 runs from May 22 to the 25. I am the Special Needs Coordinator though as of yesterday, I told the committee I would have to step down if I didn't have a scooter. Jonwin offered to take over the position for me.

As the elite Asylumites here know, I have Fibromyalgia and any time I spend walking or standing for more then a few minutes, I'm likely to find myself in pain. Typing, sewing and knitting can also be painful for me if I don't pace myself. It's one reason my post count is so low, though I been a member since 2000.

The pain is just enough to keep me from being able to hold down a job, though I may get my business name trademarked and license so I can start selling my own jewelry and hand knit items. My daughter just got her fairy wing and costume business name trademarked. I tired of not making money by working.

Smiley: jawdrop I'm sorry I made you type that, then. Well I just read up on Fibromyalgia and my brain hurts. Hope things get better!

might sound odd but a bit of flogging actually relaxed me more than a good Yoga session.

I hope you feel better.

I have found with the right flogger (elk skin seems to be just right) and a person who knows what their doing is best way to deal with back pain also. I need to convince Jonwin to get me a elk skin flogger at LR, in June.

Right now I'm concern about how easily I'm bruising on legs, and fact that I had veins pop in ankles over the weekend, as my feet swelled, so not sure a good flogging would be safe right now.

definitely not. (also smart thinking.) Have you been getting enough Vitamin B? My mother bruises easily and her Doctor had her take that supplement to help out.

At Exotica Detroit I met a fantastic flogger designer (the smelled, looked and felt amazing. Also he wasn't trying to rip people off.) Unfortunately my brain is swiss cheese and I can't remember his name. :(

I hope you feel better Elne

I am a fibromite. My cane comes in handy, even when my dad kicks it out from under me. He gets one huge bruise on his shin that takes much longer to heal than many I get. Weird how that works...

I am not allowed to mention my pain.

I feel for your lots.

I was going to be at Balticon, but then I got dumped, because my ex-girlfriend is a wishy-washy *****. It's awesome that you manage to keep so busy through all that. :)

There is no pain. You are receding.

She could have had an elk hide flogger, but she spent some money on a corset instead. She will recover, already doing better today.

Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.

a good corset isn't cheap :/ same with a good latex outfit. It's like a car payment. Did either of you get the card of whomever was making the floggers, perhaps mail order one? I've been eyeing up the Egyptians. Hubby's been asking what I'd like for Mothers day >.>

I've never experienced horse hair but it looks interesting for light play.

One has to be careful when using a horsehair flogger. They can draw blood if used to hard or allow to whip around your side.Smiley: jawdrop First time I had someone flog me with one, I fell in love with them, but did have some tiny pin picks on my side where the flogger wasn't careful enough on how he stuck my back. We don't share it with others, and use alcohol to sterilize the hair.

The Corset was on sale just for Costume Con. I been pricing corset for years, and $300 for a well made leather and cloth corset that fit me off the rack was a very good deal. Jonwin's lucky I didn't hold out for an corset from the seamstress, Ambrya link to, some time ago. If I remember corectly they started at $600 or $700.

Darn, even with the poor job I did putting bias tape on the corset I made, I wouldn't sell it for less then $100 and barely cover the materials and some of the labor. Adding the all the hours I worked on it, I should add another $25 minimum and still lose money according to SSI rules for selling handcrafted items.

Sadly I don't think I'll be able to ever wear latex, since last time I use a band aid, I developed a rash were it was sticking to my skin. My mom was allergic to latex and develop severe reaction to the compress sleeve she needed to wear, when her cancer got worse.

The sad thing is we met a great latex designer at Costumecon as well. <pout>
For the horse tail you get a good rhythm going. You are really hitting with the bulk of the tail and not the ends. It is great for heavy work that way. If you hit with the ends of the hair, yes you can break skin and draw blood.
