A storm just finished passing through my area that created several funnel clouds and a tornado or two. Funnel clouds were spotted about 2 miles away, and a tornado about 5 miles. While I guess I should be happy none were close enough to be spotted, I was kinda hoping to see my first funnel cloud at least Smiley: glare (I'm a sucker for tornados, always have been).

But it was the first time we actually had to throw our gear into the closet and get the kids hunkered down while Sick and I watched the sky and kept glued for updates. I believe this is the first time in 20 years we've had a tornado in our county.

Hopefully you'll get the slippers instead of the house next time those twisters come through.

I like the electricity in the air when the atmosphere is ripe for creating tornadoes.

She doesn't remember any funnel clouds in her COUNTY, not country. I assume a simple reading error.

Lol, that is correct. I thought she said "20 years since a tornado in our country" Nevermind.

We have loud tornado sirens and weather alerts txted to us whenever a funnel cloud is sighted.

I really wish I could see a tornado someday. From a safe distance of course.

Same. They don't manifest around here at all.

I live in a worry free area.

Been here for 15 years, and we had one mild wind storm that was left overs of a hurricane that came up the east coast. And we had one mild flood due to a lot of rain last year.

Western Michigan is peaceful. Eastern Michigan sucks though (I blame the darkies!)

I always thought we should have sirens here, but have been told 1. we dont get tornadoes often enough to warrant them and 2. It might ***** with peoples minds since we have sirens for the nuclear plant 10 miles away Smiley: grin

(I <3 Funnel cakes. We don't get them here in New England, we get fried dough instead - truly a sloppy second.)

We just had a little 4.5 about a week ago centered about 15 miles to the East. The kids didn't even notice.

Funnel cakes rock. I used to love fried dough, but ever since trying funnel cakes down here, there's just no comparison. Another thing they have down here I never heard of are friend pickles. I know it sounds completely bizarre but OMG they are so good! (And no, it's not cause Im pregnant. Sick and everyone else not pregnant who has tried them has gotten into them too)

We have a place called Tylers Taproom down the street. Insane amount of beer choices, fantastic food all around. And they have fried pickle chips. Fried olives too, but I havent tried those since Im not into olives. But the fried pickle chips are awesome with a nice cold beer to wash it down Smiley: drool2

If you have a few minutes to let it load up, this is a pretty cool vid of the supercell over Raleigh yesterday.

We're under another tornado watch right now until 9pm. Should be fun! Smiley: grin

Move to Illinois.

There's actually more tornado-ie states but IL should still work.
