The liberal media is confusing me with conflicting stories and not telling me what to think, so I need you guys to help. I'm not too smart.

Scientists believe that the H1N1 virus epidemic is no more dangerous than seasonal flu, and schools should act accordingly, Sebelius said.

In a disaster or during a health emergency such as a flu pandemic, keep in mind that neighborhood grocery stores and gas stations may run out of supplies.

No... It's the fucking FLU.....

Only two people in the US have died from it...

While 36000 people die each year from the regular flu

linked article wrote:
Still, one bad flu season is not a good reason to become discouraged and give up on yearly vaccinations. To the contrary, vaccines have proven a very effective weapon in keeping the typical death toll from influenza low —- about 36,000 Americans yearly. They also help protect at-risk children and elderly adults from the severest forms of the disease.

You could get scared of being one of the 36,000 people who die annually in the US from regular seasonal flu. Or one of the 5000 people who die from food poisoning annually. Or one of the 41,000 people who die in road accidents, or victim to one of the 15,000 murders, or 90 people who die from lightening strikes etc etc.....

Or then again you could just continue to mooch through life knowing that it probably wont happen to you and stop worrying.

Life is better if you arn't scared all the time. Honest.

Look at gbaji and varrus for example. Do they strike you as happy?

I'm sorry, the liberal media? The conservative media is reporting it differently?

Lol, the mayo clinic is liberal media. OMG where ya gonna go NOW for that heart transplant.

The information is not contradictory, it's not even comparable. One is an update of current events, one a PSI for emergencies.

Heh. Fox News did as much fear mongering as the rest of them. I think Geraldo was going on about how the "Flu epidemic has hit New York!"

Oh, but people like Glenn Beck are just donning the tinfoil hat.

A health.msn.com informational page isn't really "media" in that sense. It's not MSNBC, anyway.

"BACHMANN: I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it is an interesting coincidence."

Apparently 50-50 odds make for amazing coincidences.

It's amazing what you can almost get away with saying if you pose it as a question or make a half-***** attempt to hide it as an insinuation.

Although the real irony, as has been pointed out already many other places, is that the previous swine flu broke out under Ford, a Republican president, not Carter.

After taking a ride on the underground with two clergymen talking loudly and ignortantly about the LHC, I am no longer able to find jokes of this sort amusing. My eye twitches occasionally, too.

Obligatory "State of Fear" plug. Should be required reading by The Czar of self-education.

MRSA is also killing more people than AIDs in the U.S.

But they dont even get a ribbon.
