It's not that deep. There is one group that is irritated by another group in the OOT. We are fighting to see who gets custody of the forum.

I think it's hilarious that anyone still believes that the asylum has more condescension in it, not to mention vitriol, than the oot does. It was a change that I loosely tie the beginning of to elderon. Man, time flies. In any case, the current oot inherited the coarse and violent nature of the old asylum, where the asylum itself really seems just tame compared to the days of yore.

Well, that's pretty clear cut. The people who A) had the rules, however vague and unevenly enforced, on their side and B) debased themselves by running to Daddy.

And, sadly, this father did not take after Senijow in his handling of distraught children.

Yes. Too bad Mr. Winky isn't as reasonable as you.

You could have gone with a "child beaters never win custody" joke, but I like where you took it instead.

I think both the Oot and the Asylum shouldn't be moderated at all (or very lightly), but that the rest of the forums are.

Then why not just merge the two and create another?

What's the point? It would be the same thing. The current OOT'ers don't want to move to the Asylum because they consider the OOT their home. How would they merge the two to make those folks suddenly want to post here and not in the Sandbox?

It seems to me the most logical solution would be enforcing the rules of the OOT by moving any and all posts that don't comply to here. Eventually, they'll get it.

So? The original Asylumites were THE orginal OOTers. Your argument isn't valid.

No Shit? I seem to recall that, idiot. Not sure how you come up with that invalidating my argument, if anything it proves it.

The same stuff happening now happened before. Obviously the original solution revisited wouldn't solve anything, nor would it suddenly make the OOTers willing to move to a new forum. The whole reason most of those who really should be posting in the Asylum now don't, is they feel bound to forum=24. Just as we used to feel ownership over the OOT.

The simple fact is Alla determined there should be a hardcore forum, and a play nice forum. Now there are those who don't play nice in that forum, so they should move to the hardcore forum. It ain't friggen rocket science. Creating yet another forum is a waste of time. Merging forums and creating a new forum wouldn't do anything either. You would still have a sandbox and an asylum, regardless of what you called them.

Also, we need to bear in mind that it isn't the posters who need to move to the appropriate forum; it's the threads that fit better in one or the other.

This is not an all or nothing thang. Moderate your posts according to the forum in which you're writing them.

I personally plan to have a stock "I shall see you in the Asylum" statement, complete with glove smack and flounce.

On quick perusal, it seems a large percentage of the OOT posts are self-referential. Posts about OOT, posts about posting, posts about other posters. And I'm not just talking about today's brouhaha. It's a phase the Asylum went through for a while, too.

Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts? Now, if we were in The OoT we'd have this one covered by now.

I prefer Dunkin' Donuts of the two, as far as the actual donuts are concerned. Tim Horton's has better coffee than either, though.

By the by, when our drunk uncle BT slips in here to tuck in the kids for bed, I'll be sure to be watching. It will be truly interesting to see Kile deliver his comeback post.

Yeah, we'll see how that goes.

Most of his posts do belong here, though. I think it's just hard for him to ignore the fish in the barrel.

Bea Arthur and others would disagree. There are many soul singers who have deep breathy voices.

Think Marlene Deitrich. Then think Ros from Cheers. Then add 4 packs of cigarettes a day. If she was a nightclub singer she'd have every man hard and crying with longing from one verse of Lily Marleen.

That's funny. I do sing Dietrich songs sometimes, mostly to my cat, because he doesn't criticize my horrible German accent.

If I were a man I'd definitely be gay.

dear god, if the pussys in the OoT can't handle some of the stuff there, how do you think they'll react when they find themselves here? they'll emo-plode all over us (and i dont want to have their emo all over me, thank you very much.) Personally i just say let what is be what is, and let the pussys stay where they are.
