I wonder if we can get mean people muted, whether we can get people that bug the ever loving **** out of us muted if we can't say anything anymore.

Like if Bunny bugs the **** out of me, is there any recourse? Or is the new maturity meaning we can let someone spew for multiple threads without saying anything because we can't be mean.

I doubt my wife would appreciate that kind of pet name. I'll give it a whirl later and let you know how it goes.

Oh! Well, I think you usually have a pretty good method of letting people know they're being stupid without making threats, descending into obscenity or using explicitly offensive language. As far as I know, that meets the requirements.

Less than three Asylum.

I'm just too lazy to post in two forums most of the time.

I'm not sure I like the idea of being invaded by the OOT. I think we need a new forum, to protect us from the incoming horde.

We could call it "the Sanctuary".

I don't care if it gets merged or not. I've lobbied for it to be merged but maybe the new rules in the OOT and more admin babysitting will fix the situation. Either way, I'm home!

The OoT doesn't need heavier moderating. No matter how strict the rules, or how strictly they're enforced, you're still going to have people that get offended and go crying to the admins. I've yet to find an active forum where there aren't a few posters that can't handle it.

It's not so much the posters and the drama, it's the fact that the OOT is no longer being utilized for what it was created for. It was created for the soft softies who couldn't take the Asylum back during the "golden years" which is where the OOT is now. It's time again for change, forums change, maybe it's time for a merge and a new "softy softy" forum.

Something like that.

I agree with Katie.

Also for my own convenience.

I actually remember a time when I posted n the OoT and not here because the Asylum was scary.

Yes, but when rules are displayed and enforced across the board with an even hand and without exception, it's very easy to deal with people who whine about it. You tell them to read the rules and deal with it or GTFO.

You could make the argument that they would need to start enforcing the rules from the top down, starting in the gaming forums, then. I honestly don't think that much of what goes on in the OoT is any worse than what you see on a daily basis in the gaming forums. I hardly think that the site's Out of Topic forum should be stricter than the MMO Gaming forums.

I think both the Oot and the Asylum shouldn't be moderated at all (or very lightly), but that the rest of the forums are.

Then why not just merge the two and create another?
