That sounds more like it actually. I'm assuming you're taking AP C level calc then? It's brutal, which was why I avoided it like the plague.

All I meant was that "what kind of x is this y?" Questions should be left somewhere on middle school tests. Questions meant to trick you into answering basic questions about simple facts related to the discipline are just....

meh.

I would like to take this opportunity to snipe at the American educational system, but I can't be bothered.

P.S. The fastest way to lose weight is amputation.

It sounds about as brutal as a glass of chilled lemonade and a plate of sandwiches on a warm summer afternoon.

Not to burst your bubble, but that could be attributed to water. Steady, healthy pace to lose weight is only like 5 pounds a month.

Unless you have cancer.
I can attest to that. I lost 6 lbs the first two weeks I went to the gym, then it's been maybe a lb a week since.

Sorry to burst your bubbles, I already lost the water weight, I am not just starting out... And after gaining nearly 10 pounds I had to start losing somewhere. I am not some newb. I NEVER said I plan to lose like that, but they kept saying it'd just fall off, and it did. Thanks for caring.

Chances are I can remember being 17 better than you can.

How old are you kavekk? If you're 17 then maybe I'll have to rethink my stance on the actual quality of sub-university american education.

Bit older than that, but younger than you. Also, I'm not American :P

Ah, I see. I assumed you thought the American educational system was rubbish.

Given earlier posts, I guess it should have been obvious. Eh, it's probably Araxius' fault somehow.

Well I don't think my highschool was that bad, but if you are more than two years younger than me and also having a conversation about what we are conversing at the moment, then I will have to acquiesce (on the educational system).

Of course it's not like one hit wonder anecdotes speak for the entire facility.

The class in question is ESE124, Problem solving with C. I took MAT131 (Calc 1) and am finishing up AMS161 (Applied calc 2) right now. I'm a second semester freshmen in college. The Pre/Co-requisites for this ESE124 class are only calc1 and ESE123. How this teacher expects students who are only in calc 1 or 2 to do programs that brute force differential equations before they even learned differential equations is beyond me.

If this is a contest, and my numbers are correct, then I'm ~12 under you. But outliers give very little data about average capacities.

Assuming that you maximum age is 18, I'd have to be in my thirties!

That he makes a grievous miscalculation? That he is trying to be funny and mysterious with his schtick? That he is subtly insulting me and attempting to troll? All of the above?

My god you're at my kind of college! It'll make you appreciate the few exact solutions to differential equations that do exist. It's best to try out your numerical approximations on ODE's with known solutions first anyhow so that you can see exactly how far off you are. If you were taking a numerical methods course (which may come later...) I hope (meaning they damn well better) they teach you how to estimate the uncertainty on these techniques.

Vitamins are superfluous. A well rounded diet will give you all the necessary vitamins and minerals a person needs.

I only get prescription meds when I'm seriously ill (like mono) or for my sciatica. That only gets bad enough for treatment every other month or so; it's a vicodin and muscle-relaxer combo. I don't go through very much though every once in awhile I'll take a dose recreationally (every other month, say, opposite when I'm taking it legitimately). So it's not like I'm abusing it.

I got some rashes on my arms last weekend doing yard work. I think it's poison ivy, starting in my inner elbows and going up the forearms. It blistered up then faded away, but apparently spread to a few small patches on my wrists.

I've never had to worry about my diet. If anything I need to eat more. Not allergic to any foods, unless you count a slight lactose intolerance. I do eat Cheerios, but only a handful at a time when I'm giving some to Thom. We've got the new Banana Nut Cheerios now, they're nummy!

Do they hurt or just itch? If it's the former it sounds kind of like shingles.

It's just itchy and now it's spreading to a few of my fingers. No big deal. I had the shingles for a few weeks before Thom was before (stress FTW) which didn't bother me too much either. That was around my torso.
