As for myself, one time I got poison ivy REALLY bad. My legs were oozing stuff, the stuff would dry to my pants, I'd peel my pants away and then the oozing would start all over again.

I got me some steroids. Dried things right up. So, while I didn't need the drugs to save my life, they were sure nice and allowed me to put my pants back on and go to work.

This happened to me when I had shingles: most pain I've ever felt, including the time I ripped open my chest falling onto a cabinet door corner.

**** I don't care what the side effects are when I'm in that much pain. One small dose of vicodin please and thank you.

I haven't been to a doctor in 10~ish years. I did have a complete bloodwork done up about 2 years ago, someone came through at work offering it for 10 bucks so I did it. According to the results, I'm in perfect health.

I really should go get a full physical though, it's been far too long. So no meds for me. Other than regular use of beer.

Unless death is the outcome, I don't use perscription drugs. I think it's unwise and unhealthy to use chemical compounds to alter the body in such ways that it cures athletes foot but gives you bleeding eyeballs.

I usually do something I regret when I don't take my meds. :/ Today for example I was supposed to list the 3rd and 6th term of the Fibonacci sequence, with 0 being the 0th term and 1 being the 1st term. I wrote down 1 and 5 because I started counting through them with 0 being the first term.

I seriously hope you're still in highschool. If I had to do something that ridiculously assinine in university I'd drop the @#%^ing class.

Speaking of which, time to take the Rx's!

Since I'm still in my twenties, I haven't started to fall apart yet and therefore do not require daily medication.

I'm 21 and require five. I don't see what age has to do with any of it.

Fucking ******.

Ok, so my plan of action:

- replace my morning bagel/creamcheese with cheerios w/1.5% milk and some kind of fruit.
- insure I get 4 decent workouts per week.
- I vow to not give up ice cream nor ever resort to sugar-free, low carb, diet or frozen yogurt.
- I think maybe a bottle of red wine each weekend is supposed to help, so I'll try that too. Already picked me up a nice Cab for this weekend:)

Er, I'm not sure a bottle is quite the recommended quantity for health...

Choosing which letter to filter-bust, and with what alteration to do it, is a brain-straining decision for a friday.

My mom is using diet to improve her cholesterol numbers which has made a significant difference. She said partly that she needed to increase her good cholesterol, while lowering her bad cholesterol so she has a small snack of almonds during the evening. Not alot, but enough to help moderate things.

Also, you should consider switching to soy milk, which can impact your cholesterol positively.

I can do soy, but not soy milk. Thanks for the tip on almonds. They are, actually, one of the nuts that have not sky-rocketed in price (anyone checked out walnuts lately!).

I take a few things, I have some hella bad BP, and don't tell me it's because I am fat. I have had high BP since I was 25 and I was skinny more years than I have been fat. One good thing about one of my BP meds, it keeps me from going off and killing someone now and then. I am hyper sensitive, so things like stress, allergies, pain affect me differently than most of you. I also take crap for allergies too, and carry benadryl cream, spray, pills and an epi-pen at all times. My tri's have been bad for awhile, I took two different meds for that, HATED them, took myself off. If I can't control the tri's with the diet and exercise changes I have made, then I will suffer with some stupid pill if it means it lessens the risk of the impending heart attack I may have. Really odd though, they tell me I am as healthy as a horse. But my cardiac event possibility is 3x the normal and they have no clue why because my BP and tri's aren't THAT bad. I don't have insurance, so, we aren't likely to find out why any time soon. Might as well do what I can.

I pretty much have oatmeal or cheerios, fruit and tuna daily. I take centrum's cardio vitamin and fish oil. Oh and I have added flax seed to my diet as well. I am at the gym 60-90 mins daily and have lost nearly 8 pounds in the last week and a half. The first month I really pressed hard on the new lifestyle change, I was very disappointed, today, I am better. Smiley: grin

I take a multivitamin, a vitamin E, and 2000 mg of vitamin C every day. It really helps my muscles recover from a workout. If I miss the vitamins for a day or two, but keep exercising, I'm a lot sorer, which I'm surprised is a word.

Congrats! Hang in there.

I can't do gyms. I think it's the smell that brings about the bad vibes. I'm happy the weather is such I can get out on a regular basis again without all the hassles of winter-time outdoor activity.

Not to burst your bubble, but that could be attributed to water. Steady, healthy pace to lose weight is only like 5 pounds a month.

Unless you have cancer.

I can attest to that. I lost 6 lbs the first two weeks I went to the gym, then it's been maybe a lb a week since.

Be careful with having tuna daily - that could be a lot of mercury.

The last couple quizzes/homeworks over the last month or two had us write out programs that brute force differential equations. We didn't learn differential equations until this week or last week in calc 2. This teacher is a ******* douchbag.
