Kinda like a document saying "All ????? need to wear diapers" would be "Infantalizing" ?????.
The document in question doesn't say "all" anyone anything.
Although, speaking to someone else on this topic, I've developed a pet theory. It's no secret that the GOP has been having trouble marketing their ideas. This isn't really in question -- even leaders within the GOP have said as much. In the absence of developing a compelling message that people will listen to and say "Hey, yeah, that makes sense" I think the new GOP "marketing" campaign is this: Constantly claim persecution and give the impression that their ideas are so very, very important that the Democratic Government Machine is trying to crush them down. "Lower taxes are so scary to the Government that they'll try to label you as an
extremist for wanting them! Fight the powah!" "The Government is trying to stop you from protesting on Tax Day with their scare-memo! Fight the powah!" Hell, we even have Texas Governor Perry & Tom DeLay saying "These issues are
so important that we'd be willing to rip the nation asunder to defend them! Fight the powah!"
This removes any real need to discuss those issues or present them in an appealing way. Instead, they just present themselves as victims of a cruel government our to supress any mention of anti-abortion, gun rights, deficit reduction, oil drilling, etc etc etc. I mean, oil drilling
must be important if the DHS thinks anyone who mentions it is a potential terrorist, right?
Obviously the government is wrong on the economy if they're willing to send their jack-booted thugs out to grab you in the night if you speak about it, right?
It's a purely emotional knee-jerk technique. Now some are doing it intentionally and the rest, well, the rest got their talking point from the usual pundits.
