Never in the history of this great nation has president lowered himself to actually bow to the leader of another nation.

Perhaps because the rest of the Presidents were arrogant douchebags. Bowing is a highly polite way of showing respect. No different than a @#%^ing handshake.

Course, this does nothing to address the fact that bowing is considered rude to people of the Muslim faith but I'm rating you down anyway.

So the Bush family used to put the Saudi king up on a ladder before they tongue-fucked his ***?

About how the Bush family has grovelled before the Saudis for generations? Of course I know all about that. I'm considerably better read than you.

Doesn't it bother you in the least that no president in the history of the US has ever done anything like that?

No. It doesn't bother me at all. When visiting someone elses house, you make damn sure you ask if you should remove your shoes. It's polite. It's the correct thing to do. I'm not talking about prostrating yourself before someone but have some @#%^ing courtesy.

What bothers me is the fact that no one bothered to look up the customs of bowing to a Saudi King who's a Muslim. It's not proper because they don't bow to anyone but God and consider it an afront for others to do it to them. That's what bothers me. The lack of @#%^ing research that his handlers and you seem incapable of doing.

No, what you meant was "Oh, shit, Jophiel is right as usual and it's true that the Bush family has been rolling over for the Saudi's since Bush Sr.... but maybe I can say HE licks asses! That should protect me!!"

Oh, we all know exactly what you meant.

No, I understand perfectly well what you're saying. I just happen to think that it's an arrogant attitude to have. There's absolutely no reason not to greet a foreign dignitary by his/her cultural demands. You bow to Lee Myung-bak, the President of South Korea. He, in turn, shakes your hand. It's a sign of mutual respect. Which this county lost a long time ago.

Welcome to politics. If it wasn't artificial and full of gestures it wouldn't be politics.

I understand what you're saying. What's amazing is you can't understand what I'm saying. We're american we're supposed to believe in things like freedom and equality. Bowing is one of the worst things someone who holds these beliefs can do. You know better to die on your feet than live on your knees. I also understand what you're saying about the muslim viewpoint of bowing, but that's not what i'm addressing.

Bowing is totally killing America.

I thought the president would always bow to Japan's PM, and he would bow back? Customs and all that.

Shits 'n Giggles, mostly. No one takes him seriously, he's just someone to riff off of. Like at the comedy clubs where the guy says "Give me a political event" and someone yells out "Obama bows to the Saudi king!"

Of course, the Bushes practically 69'd the Saudi Royal family or at least they walk hand in hand like boyfriends.

Maybe Obama was trying to kill any remaining memes about him being a Muslim, by getting the custom totally and completely wrong. Tis a shame it backfired.
