What agenda do you suppose I was furthering by citing the murder of a local gay man?
You tell me.

The "it's not cool to beat and strangle gay men" agenda? Maybe I'm living in a fantasy world, but I kind of hoped were were at least beyond needing to "further" that.
She did tell you...
Hate is bad. You somehow switched the conversation away from civil unions and turned it into "the whole gay thing." They're separate issues. "The whole gay thing" is what we're addressing in responses to you; it's important because, hey, people are getting killed because of "the whole gay thing."

No; I'm saying you're using a tragedy to further your agenda. That in and of itself is illustrative of a lack of moral integrity.
Who is talking about moral integrity (except you)? A gay man was murdered because he was gay. Yup, mentioning that definitely shows a lack of moral integrity. Some people
find "acceptance" difficult refuse to accept things they don't agree with, which is fine, but then you simply ignore the fact that this seething hatred is getting folks killed.
Anyway, this has gotten off-topic. Apparently your stated reason for being against gay marriage or civil unions is the increased STD rates. Taking this to the logical conclusion, you believe 1/4 of teenage girls should not be married because marriage usually involves sex (at the beginning at least :-P), which increases the chance to spread said STDs. I think both positions are idiotic, personally.
