That's mildly annoying. They're usually pretty entertaining.

Same, and it's annoying as gbaji seems more off his rocker than I've seen him before. At least, as far as I can tell from the quoting.

Are you changing the drop down to "Never" then checking SAVE, then clicking "Apply"? It's an unnecessarily cumbersome set up, and I forget to check "SAVE" all the time, but it works for me.

I lied, it's not working this morning. I also was logged out, and had to try like 5 times to log in, and it wouldn't do it if I had the "save my loggin on this computer" box checked. Weird.

What I like about Obama ... when he preempts our favorite TV shows, the wife and I turn off the TV and have sex.

But srsly, he's an articulate, handsome, bright dude.

Absolutely!

I blame toxic water actually. Now, I've got some kind of throat/sinus infection.

Tell you what though. All those listing things they like about Obama. How about listing something you dislike about him now?

I would but I demand preconditions and qualifications and stuff. 'Cause I don't want you to think I'm weak.

So after you answer Ugly, I'll consider coming to the table.

I like:
- that he is intelligent and seems to consider the implications multiple ideas at once.
- that he is confident and secure in his judgments.
- that he is focusing on preserving the environment and creating a new energy sector.
- that he is closing Guantanamo bay.
- that he is initiating a withdrawal from Iraq.

I dislike:
- that he promised to change the way Washington worked, and didn't deliver, picking many of the same criminals to run our government that have been in power the last 30 years, or their proteges.
- that he is selling us and our future out to the international bankers.

I like this, too. It will make it more difficult later for him to worm his way out of the trouble he lands himself (and the country) in.

I concur.

Articulate...?

Addendum: I like that, politics aside, the USA has elected a black man to the Presidency. A blow to racial bigotry indeed.

Addendum # 02: And that is the extent of it, too, cause everything else is just frakkin ridiculous.

I won't list things I like about Obama or things I dislike about Bush, since that wouldn't be much of an exercise.

Things I liked about Bush:
- Deposed Saddam Hussein, instituted democracy*
(Yes there are arguments about means vs ends, the legitimacy and sustainability of said democracy, and long-term regional consequences of the war. But on its face, not having him in power is good).
- As Joph has noted previously, the large oceanic nature preserve
- Sensible consolidation and implementation of policies to ensure sharing of intelligence between federal bureaucracies, re: homeland security.
(Not the warantless wiretapping type stuff, but the stuff that made it so that the CIA and FBI would actually cooperate with each other and other appropriate depts.)

Things I dislike about Obama:
- Too religiousy
(No moreso than any other national politician, but it's still not my ideal)
- Doesn't support full gay marriage
- Has tacked somewhat toward center since inauguration

The point is for people who feel strongly about a specific issue in a thread to be willing to list things in opposition to their stated position.

False equivalence. Ugly hasn't been gushing about how wonderful Obama is and how horrible Bush is. That he asked the question of me in the other thread is irrelevant. It's about the person being asked, not the person asking.

The point is for me to say whatever I feel like saying Smiley: laugh I don't give a fuck for whatever silly game you're trying to play or ****-poor "logic lesson" you think you're teaching.

I said I'd do so when you met my demands. If you think the result isn't worth meeting my demands and you're happier with the status quo then you've learned an important lesson about negotiation.
