Congratulations! Smiley: yippee

On my end, my new job is higher pay, better hours, more flexible schedule, more relaxed boss, and I have underlings that I get to supervise now. Getting supervisor skills is what I've been wanting to develop for awhile and to finally have the opportunity to do so, I'm so grateful.

Best part is that my vacation moves from 3 weeks to 4 weeks a year.

Hmmm.

Promotion - 10% pay...

My job sucks, I guess. I get paid less and have more responsibilities! (They consolidated, laid off people, and gave the work of those laid off to those who still worked there, and then cut everyone's pay!)

Of course, I work in the auto industry. We survived the hardships, and everything is slowly growing again. I'm waiting the day they announce that they are giving me my 10% back...

Curse you Joph. That's pretty much verbatim what I was going to say.

Just finished the Hawaiian vacation last month, heading to Europe to visit castles for two weeks in May. I have no idea where this recesssion everybody is talking about is taking place. Angola is a boomin' place!

I sell parts for cars, the recession is good for my business. Less money and credit available for people to buy new cars.

Time to fix your old car!

Unfortunately yes. But the extra week of paid vacation and the additional 5% to my bonus structure helps ease the pain a bit.

Lemme see...

I'm heading to Germany first, then a train to Paris, then on to Monaco via the French Riviera. Then work a couple of months, and go visit the Swiss Alps and Tuscany in late August.

Keep buying Chevron's gas, folks! I appreciate it!

Yeah, I haven't felt the effects of the recession as much as other people. I also just got a promotion and a pay increase. I don't use any kind of credit and I own my home outright and don't make risky investments.
