Thought it's only Friday, my body has had enough of a work out for the weekend. I got to spend times with old friends, meet new friends and now have rather lovely bruise on on my rear end.

I stay up late last night chatting with a fellow geek after he show me his collection of old sound and television equipment. He got out his Copy of It's a Beautiful Day Albums and play my Favorite for me. Afterwards he pulled out several other albums and play different tracks for me, from the early 70's when he worked for several radio stations in the DC/Baltimore area. I promise to check for some old electronic books of my grandfather's as well as for the Spike Jones 78, that was my introduction to how awesome my parents music collection was.

Not sure was was better, getting reintroduced to musicians, I hadn't heard since I was a teen, holding his near prefect condition White Album or the Emmy Lou Harris recording he had done , of radio program that my dad and I had listen together back when it was aired. All while he was unhappy that the pots on his amp needed cleaning.

Rest of Weekend will be tracking down some of the musicians and any downloads of their music I can find.

You should take Hannah to the sculpture park at the DeCordova Museum if you haven't already.

Nexa refuses to visit places I've had sex with other women at. Oh, like you haven't.

I'm giving Nexa a 19th century walnut mantle clock. Straight from the barn of a lunatic subsistence hunting Vermonter, that's love baby.

I'm getting a new used TV this weekend.. 52 inches for $250 - to replace my old crappy 26 incher. HD? Who needs it.

You will when you see how crappy your signal looks blown up to 52 inches.

Big screen TVs were fine for years without HD. I'm not one to jump on any technology bandwagon, especially one so pricey, when a perfectly good used TV will do the job.

There's nothing quite like playing 8 bit Nintendo games on a humongous TV though!

The tubes on the old one are going out or something. Whenever I leave it off for more than 15 minutes or so, I have to put up with an unbearably loud and obnoxious noise for 20 minutes til it warms up. Otherwise, I wouldn't be replacing the old one either. :P

Lol. I still have my old TV. Has paneling on the sides and a handle on the top. It's been steadily dying for a long time. Go me! I'm actually using it as a stand for the old-new TV, which I had in the living room after my first plasma died. Just recently, I bought the new-hotness for the living room. Very nice Samsung HD goodness!

I get not spending the dough on a big HD screen though. You really can tell the difference between a low and high end HD screen. I'm of the opinion that for most film sources that are available, you're better off getting a good quality regular resolution (or EDTV) than anything less than a pretty high end HD. If you care enough about the quality off a DVD, you'll still care about playing it on a low end HD. If you don't, then it's not a big deal either way.

Regular broadcast TV is going to look crappy either way, so if the money is tight, take what you can get.

As to this weekend. Pretty much slacking off. Might do a few things around the house. Probably will go over to a friends house on Saturday and party a bit, but nothing major. I might play around with my new crockpot. Just deciding what level of difficulty in terms of recipes I want to try first time out. Probably just go with an easy chili till I get the hang of it.

The good news is that whilst shopping for said crockpot, I stumbled across something I've been looking for for quite some time. Not that I've been scouring stores or anything, but my mom had this tiny little pan that was perfect for cooking single eggs (or even two). They end out the perfect size for making an egg sandwich. I used to love making those, but never bought one for myself. So I'm wandering through the store, and what do I see? A little one-egg frying pan. Yay! So I buy it, then get some eggs and bread. Toast, fry, add some miracle whip. OMFG! Yummy...

More of the same for me, reading the new David Weber book, maintaining holding pattern delta 4 while I await any movement in any direction on the house flooding situation debacle, and other than that, doing as little productive as humanly possible!

Oh, and its gonna snow tomorrow.
