...you all didn't really need to refrain from mentioning the passing of Philip Jose Farmer just because he died on my birthday.

I like Farmer. I won't say that he was the best writer ever or anything, but he wove a good story. I'm probably one of few that actually enjoyed the World of Tiers series better than the Riverworld set (well, at least the first few books of each...he, like so many authors, tended to let a series go on past the point where it made good sense to and past his ability to bring it together).

Anyway, RIP PJF.
