Catwho,

Oh, so you're a racist @#%^ in addition to being a general prick and conservative stooge?

I long ago stopped giving anything you said credence, but now I know you're beyond hope. Its people like you that bring America down. Go die in a fire.

So now no one can look at and observe the effects of abolishing apartheid without being a racist?

I get it when someone challenges any idea that pops into your tiny brain they must be racist. I asked you that question because I have white south african friends in south texas and you would be horrified at what's going on there now. Ending apartheid the way they did has directly led to 100's of thousands of deaths due to starvation.

So get back up on your high horse and pretend things are better now; but recognize that's what you're doing, pretending.

So, are you saying they shouldn't have abolished Apartheid, or that they should've gone about it a better way?

Tulip,

The second. I don't think anyone who values justice and equality of oppurtunity can support policies that subjugate an entire race. However, simply ending an institution because it's not good without having a viable replacement leads to what we're seeing in south africa.

Just checking.

With you I never know.

I have the floor.

I move to change Black History Month to Totem History Month, thereby turning a boring and divisive "teaching opportunity" into an exciting and action packed month of unsuccessfully measuring your penises against my mammoth Alabama Black Snake, laffing at my incredible sense of humor, fondly reminincing about the hideous spankings I put on foolish no0bs intent on desecrating our sacred Asylum, and playing Last games.

It's a win-win for us all. Us blacks get the attention we deserve and you whites get the Black Neo.

I used to hate that history class was the exact same sequence of years over and over every single grade. It's like each successive grade just pretends that the previous one didn't have a history class.
Just be happy you weren't learning about some terrorist Metis, or some chick who has chocolate named after her, or some stupid river valley. God, Canadian history was boring.

Really? You learnt about people living in Africa, and the reason why their tribes were the ones that were enslaved? You learn about why how some African tribes colluded with white traders to enslave other tribes? You learnt about the internal African conflicts that led to this situation? You learn about the everyday life of the slave, the work, the rapes, the murders, and the moral and religious justifications for these?

Yes. This was included in my history instruction back in the late 70s and early 80s. Maybe it's changed since then, but I'd guess it's changed to include *more* of that, not less.

But You can't get to freedom by riding on a train. The only way to freedom is right on through your brain...
