Technically I called him sadistic for wanting to experience murder vicariously, but I'll let the comment pass. Child rapists are often restricted to separate prison wings with other vulnerable prisoners, such as police informants and former officers, for their own protection. This means their freedoms are more limited and they still leave with the social stigma, but they are better able to avoid rape and abuse. Even regular prisoners who are serving a non-life sentences are raped and abused, but it still beats death.
There are very few situations where killing a person is truly humane.
