I was watching Television and a woman speaking sounded just like me. It was very strange, she could have been my verbal twin and put my teeth on edge. She must be eliminated to preserve my individuality Smiley: nod

Anyone else ever experienced a similar occurance?

I once saw a lady walking down the street who looked just like me. I was totally freaked out until I remembered that I had taken ketamine that evening.

Not quite similar, but when I was in Germany during my high school exchange, we found a lady who looked exactly identical to our German teacher, but wasn't her. We later brought the Teacher to the shop where the other lady was working and the resemblance was eerie.

Remember kids, there are only about 500 unique models in the world, and that's why it gets embarassing when they keep running into each other.

I think my favorite play on that concept was Cut-me-own-throat Dibbler.

No, I have a pretty unusual voice. If I took up smoking I could possibly aspire to Lauren Bacall's voice in her movie heyday.

There was a guy that I was really good friends with for a long time and some of his friends said that he had a crush on me, but he never acted on that. Anyways, after high school, he started going out with this one girl who bore a very striking resemblance to me. Everyone thought they kept seeing him and me around and it was him and his girlfriend. When we finally met, she and I commented on the resemblance and he said he couldn't see it.

It was very Ross and Rachel a la Friends.

Did she really sound like your actual voice? Or what your voice sounds like in your head?

No, but there is a very old statue called The Wounded (or is it Dying?) Gaul, the face of which is virtually identical to mine when I was in my twenties. It freaked me out when I first saw it.

It's odd, I still don't recognize my own voice when I hear it. Every once in a while when I page the plant looking for someone, and I'm in a quiet place and can actually hear the PA system, it sounds so much different.

Honey, you are already beyond Bacall.

I loathe hearing my own voice on recordings or reflected back through mics. Loathe it, loathe it, loathe it. It's like 3 octaves higher than the voice I hear when I'm speaking. I think it sounds like an 8 year old girl's voice on a good day, and a 3 year old's voice on a bad day.

With a speech impediment. Smiley: frown

Oh, this was not a fish for more compliments. I already understand that many people, especially Americans, like the sound of my voice/my accent. Which is just lovely. It's nice to receive compliments, and I've heard so many since starting to VOIP that I can now accept that they're real. It's just... I really personally can't feel what other people see in it.
