I saw Skynyrd in 1975. It was my first Rock Concert. There was almost a riot because the venue folks turned on the house lights and tried to start ushering people out when they were performing Freebird as an encore.

Billy is free as a bird now. RIP.

yeah, had I known I'd never have the opportunity to see Ronnie perform again, I'd have maybe taken a picture or two. As it was I was just a brainless 14 year old - I do remember quite vividly the end and the outrage of the audience. Lol, I was scared.

This was a truly sad bit of news...I grew up in Fla. and this band was required listening for anyone who listened to rock.
