...but this looks pretty sweet. I'll be interested in seeing Honda's response, since they're my fav. I'm pretty likely to buy a new car next year or the year after.

Nice looking car, but it's till a Ford. While I think they've come further than the other 2, they still lag behind Toyota, Honda and Nissan for quality. Only way I'd get anythign built by Ford, GM or ChryfallingapartasItypethisler is if it were company leased. In other words, not my money fixing it.

This.

There are very few cars from the Big 3 I would ever consider purchasing, and currently they're all out of my price range. I'll stick with my Hondas and Toyotas for now.

My family mobile for many years was a Ford Taurus Wagon. I picked it over a bunch of mini-vans because it just seemed like a more solid vehicle. It was a great car. It had eight seat belts so would hold most of a team, got decent mileage and never had any real 'issues'. I passed it down to my daughter in 02, who passed it on to her brother in 05, who just passed it to our mechanic, for parts, last fall. I think it had around 220k miles when it was put to rest.

A girlfriend of mine got a Mustang, either last years or 07. That's a pretty sweet little car.

This car you've linked...it doesn't seem to be a station wagon or German. I don't like where this is going.

Yeah. But it's got a "wide stance", which will help you when cruising the airport restrooms...

FWIW, the new Mondeo (as the Taurus is known in UK) has been universally acclaimed against most criteria, the the extent that most Motoring rewviewers (including lolJeremy Clarkson) have said it's better than the BMW 3 series.

And that's not 'better value for money' - even though it's way cheaper than the BMW, that's more reliable, better performance, comfort, convenience & build quality. Looks bloody nice too.

The Mondeo in england has always just been a quality car - everything that Nobby said.

I must say I'm interested in seeing if the Ford Flex will be anything special. It looks quite similar in design to a Land Rover Discovery (LR3) although I guess whether it will perform the same is a differnt story. For the moment, and I expect for a very long time, I'll be very happy with my current Land Rover Defender 90.

In the 90's they were built like thrown together lego, the transmission was ***** the electrics were buggy and they looked like they'd been designed by a blind norwegian.

I do, however, concede that the Defender 90 is brimming with win.

This is my new beauty. (Well a picture of one, not mine specifically) It's a 2003 VW Jetta. It only has 81k miles on it and it's in practically new condition. The m.p.g is amazing and it's a 5-speed which is a plus in my book. And the best part is I got it for about $4000.

Well then, I'll correct that to "The mondeo in england has been a quality car in recent years". I think my parents had a mondeo around the late nineties, it replaced their Sierra. I seem to remember it being pretty good. Long time ago though.

Now that I've seen several X-craft shows on the Military channel, I want to know when they're gonna start making nuclear-powered catamaran carriers!

Probably never. The DD-X destroyer program if it gets un-cancelled might be a trimaran hull though.

2010 Ford Focus looks clean as well

My 03 has been a lot of fun and with 100k miles on her and she's still driving like new. There's an added twist to the plot, if they bring the actual European Focus (AWD, turbocharged, etc) to the US, that would be awesome.
