Well we've had our first major illness this week. The little baby started getting sick on Sunday. He's had a cold for awhile now, but then he snorked up a big load of snot, choked on it and threw up on the bed. Monday he kept throwing up and also had diarrhea. This continued on Tuesday so we took him to the hospital at night, when they said it was simply gastroenteritis (a stomach bug?). We'd already been giving him watered-down Gatorade at first until I picked up some PediaLyte. The funny thing is, the whole time he was puking and squirting, he didn't seem upset at all. My wife and my mom took him to the new pediatrician Wednesday who told them that he also has an ear infection. He got medicine for that and as of today seems to be all better.

The big baby (me) started getting diarrhea Wednesday morning. I was so weak I stayed in bed all day drinking water and Gatorade. Today I feel a bit better though I'm still peeing mud out my ***. I can also eat a bit of food now so hopefully I'll be back to work tomorrow.

Blech! That's the worse, we all passed that around at work a while back. Babies with ear infections can be fickle like that sometimes just that will be enough to make them pukey. Plenty of fluids and watch him for diaper rash sometimes diarrhea can cause babies to get a kind of yeasty diaper rash thing going on. Very bad.

Welcome to one of the wonderful aspects of being a parent. When your kids get something you most likely will get something similiar. Sorry to hear the little tyke wasn't feeling good. I think we take it harder than the kids sometimes. Xavier finally went to school today after me having to pick him up from school monday afternoon when he came down with a fever and chills. Today I've just felt bone numbing exhaustion and wonder if Im going to get a smaller dose of what he dealt with.

The best is when they throw up oranges and milk in the bed and it runs off the edges of their toddler bed into all of the cracks and all over the carpet. Then when you pick them up at arms length the throw up the whole way out of the room and all over you, with your mouth open. So you clean all of that up (NOTHING smells worse than half digested oranges and curdled milk with rice cereal) and they play for an hour at 2am. You put them in your bed, because you can't steam clean their room with acid at 3am, and 20 minutes later they annhialate your bed with watered down fruit punch and goldfish crackers.

Yep, thems the things of memories.

Yeah, Tristan and I have the stomach flu also. I am trying to make sure he gets out of his diaper as soon as he's done having another bout of diarrhea, but his poor bum is just in an awful state and very sore.

Zoe just got over something like that, horrible coughing and runny nose, no diarrhea though.

We have been extreamly lucky. My stepdaughter came down with the stomach flu on Monday and Connor has, so far, avoided it. He has been in daycare for allmost two weeks now with no incident. Sorry to hear about baby sickies Deb, hope you guys get 100% soon.

I got half-digested banana and honeydew...

We're pretty much back to normal now. All day yesterday I still had the runs and it started getting quite painful in the evening, but it seems to be all better now. Thom barfed a tiny little bit and had a slightly squishy diaper this morning but other than that it's all good.

Goat's milk and cheese. You have no idea how foul that stuff smells the second time around...
