I was doing my weekly shop today and Chicken breast is now more expencive than rump steak, Pork loin, Duck breast and looking at the website at my usual store you can by a whole pheasant for per per Kg than a bleeding chicken!

how the sweet jebus mary and joseph am i supposed to avoid eating too much red meat when the damn cluckers are so bleeding expencive!

Any farming experts care to shead any light on this fowl problem?

Why the fuck would you want to eat chicken if duck and pheasant is so plentiful?

I can't think of a single place where I can go buy an duck or pheasant.

Well pheasant is not that plentiful but I daresay should I want it, I could find it, Duck breast's and whole ducks are readily availible all year around here.

Game is too rich for everyday consumption, sweet and sour duck is just not the same...

I can see your point. But generally Duck > Chicken.

You could try using different cuts of chicken, like thighs, that are usually less expensive.

Breasts always cost more. =)

I remember when chicken is what you got because you were broke. Now it's what you get to splurge. I used to even be able to find boneless, skinless breasts at a decent price, but not anymore.

No matter how hard I try, I just can't find the beef that will give me that special madness.

As an unrelated question.

Is this how Brits really spell "expensive" or is this another moment of Tarv speaking English-English?

Chicken in Canada was like 22 dollars a package. I hope for that price they don't abuse them and pump them full of hormones like in the US.

Also, Duck>Chicken.

Well, in the UK KFC isn't especially for black people. The only connotation KFC has is that it's cheap and disgusting. And that it's suppliers kill chicken by throwing them against a wall, or something. But othewise, Arabs and chavs use it as much as blacks.

Unless it's brown, of course.

Two muffins are sitting in an oven. One says the other "Damn, it's hot in here." The other looks at me and screams "OMG, A TALKING MUFFIN!!"

...

On the bright side, it's pretty quite here at work.

Unless you live near a large body of water fish is even more expensive than chicken. In my are boneless breast is going for about six dollars a pound, thighs and legs for about half that. I've found the best thing to do is get yourself a large freezer and stock up when things are on sale. For instance, for New Year's pork was ridiculously inexpensive at the store I shop at. Whole bone in loin was 1.19 a pound. I had them cut it into 3/4 inch chops and a large roast and have enough meat for five or six meals for fourteen dollars.

Where are you buying them at that price? Or, maybe better asked, how much is in that package? I usually see around $15-17 for a large pack of breasts, which I think is about 6-8 breasts typically.
