I vote for "Not Awake Yet".

And that's just a taste of what the merger would bring. Is the Asylum really ready for that sort of frivolity?

Wow.

Was there really just a Land Before Time reference in the Asylum?

Really?

I know you all want to hear my idea for the OOT/Asylum merger. Smiley: rolleyes

If I were the one doing the merger I would merge the OOT/Asylum and create a new forum. It would be the OOT from back when. It would consist of newbie OOT, moderately moderated and any Advanced OOT/Asylum material would be moved when it came by. It would create a new forum that we of the new AsylOOT would "hate" and they'd hate us equally for being elitist jerks. Circle of life or some such kind of thing.

Without a structure change of some sort, just merging the forums and making a new one won't really fix things, people would still seperate, and people would just head to the new one again.

Eh, I see it as a refresher cycle. We should do it every 4 to 5 years. It seems to take that long for the OOT to mature to the Asylum level. I mean way back when I joined there were ****/fart jokes and russian soldiers making vodka from frozen potatoes. Instead of farming karma, we farmed stars. I don't like the idea of limiting it to posters with a certain post count because 10k posts does not mean you are ready for the OOT/asylum merger or have skin thick enough to take what the more mature OOT dishes out let alone the Asylum. I think it could work as long as you make exceptions for people who apply directly to an admin to have access back to the stricter OOT. If they don't play by the rules they are kicked back to the Asylum. Let it be a "read only" thing for posters above say 6K. If they would like to contribute they apply to an admin for access and they agree to follow the rules. If they don't then they lose the right to post in the super admin protected forums. That way if they really only enjoy the newbie OOT chat (not saying that's a bad thing) then they can stay there but if they really need to be moved then they will be.

If I could rate you to excellent I would. I'm going to go find another post of yours to rate green to make up for it.

While up way too early yesterday morning with little Miss I can't tell the difference between Night & Day, I was blessed with the original Land Before Time. It was just as awesome as it was when I was 8.

I actually saw the original Land Before Time in the theater. I took a little kid I was babysitting when I was a teenager. There's one scene that gets really quiet, then a T-Rex jumps out and roars. I *screamed*. 5 year olds all over the theater turned and looked at me with scorn.

I went and saw it in the theatre too. It was part of a friend's birthday party, I think we were in 2nd grade.

Were they those hard rubber ones that you couldn't really move very well? I think I had some of those.

ETA: Yeah, here they are. It's ridiculous that I can still imagine the hollow rubbery sound they made when you stuck your hand inside.

Frankly, the quality/quantity in OoT (such as it is) is going down the tubes as well. I find myself posting more on other forums because traffic is down on Alla's in general, much less interesting traffic.

I was going to comment on this, too.

Someone should put up a billboard on the Info Hwy there, direct more victims our way.
