The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is put on my glasses, so I can see beyond the tip of my nose. Today one of the lens pop out of the frame. so i grab my lovely mother of pearl swiss army knife and start to use the small ***** driver to tighten the tiny ***** that holds the lens in.
Not good idea, as a few seconds later I'm screaming for Jonwin to come help me, as my left index finger is bleeding all over the bed. the blade that has the ***** driver on it is also the can opener and it cut deep to nearly the bone. Thankfully further SIL was still home and came quickly to get me to the ER.
Now my left hand is near useless, as I can barely move the index finger without pain. Typing is worst then usual, as I find mt left hand is better at finding the right keys. Thank goodness for Google spell checker.
I also glad I finish knitting a pair of socks yesterday, as it will be several days before I will be able to start my next project. These are the first actual pair of socks that I actually completed, after several starts. I normally gave up when the thought of having to knit the second sock became too dreadful to consider. Specially when dealing with 2 or 3 small pointy needles, that like to stab me, while I'm working with 2 other needles.
Through the wonders of knitting blogs I learn of how to knit 2 socks at one time using 2 circular needles. No more dread of knitting pairs of socks or mittens one at a time. Next up on list of things to learn is knitting lace and fancy cables. I love how I can take yarn and pointy sticks to make warn thingies for family to wear. Thankfully they seem to like having me knit items for them also and now I have list of things they like done. That is after my finger is heal some.
Stitches will be remove in 10 days. Until then I will spend my time reading and doing what I can with just one hand.
