I like the exterior design quite a bit, but that kitchen would drive me insane. Also, not a fan of sliding glass doors, aesthetically, but I recognize that my 19th century taste in accommodation is shared by few. Serious question, though, what do you do with them in the winter? It seems like they'd do a poor job of insulating.
yeah, no kidding, I walked into that thing about 4 times when looking at the property initially. It will eventually have a table under it and be raised up oh, I dunno 8 feet or so.
The kitchen is actually a decent layout I think. May take some getting used to, and the stupid tile countertop is totally getting replaced by a stone slab when I have the money, but I think it will work. Needs a microwave hood too, the little one they have in there now just doesn't fill out the space well.
As far as slideing glass doors go, the main answer is it just usually doesn't get cold enough for us to bother doing anything with them. In a bad winter we get maybe 1 foot of snow accumulation at any given time. These particular doors are double pane vinal doors with nitrogen in between the panes.
I may have allegedly checked out one of the Thermal cameras we usually look at Pavement with and pointed it at the alleged house a few times for a purely work related test. They do allegedly leak a bit more heat than the other areas of the house, but the big windows next to them are actually worse culperits so far for energy loss.
And the giant robot will live in the ginormous garage. 12 foot ceilings, good electrical, conveniant place to stash robot murdered corpses of human opressors, etc. what more could a giant evil robot want?
