So make with the dirt.

What's shakin' for New Year? We are off to friends for drinks and eats. nothing too rockin' but adult company is always a good start. I imagine tomorrow will be pretty quiet around here and Friday I am going to make butter chicken and relax a little.

Not doing anything here. I'll stop at the liquor store on the way home from work, then I'll probably play WoW with the hubby tonight. Life in the fast lane.

Nothing here either. Wine is bought and I'm spending the evening with a good friend. I'm enjoying the slow lane this Christmas and New Year Smiley: smile

Amateur night, I'll be hidin' under the bed. I have to work Friday so I wouldn't get too crazy anyway. Days off are too precious to waste recovering.

Smash arrives this evening to see if we can make it to midnight since we're old. Tomorrow, sitting around, eating, wrapping the last few gifts for my family and his (we've only got two more Christmas's to go...after this weekend, it's over!!). Friday, we all drive to the Chusetts, ship the ex back to basic training, and head to Smash's parent's house for Christmas part fourteen or wherever we're at now, gah. Sunday I head back up to Maine to have Christmas with my mother, sister, aunt, and two grandmothers.

Monday is Hannah's first day at big-kid preschool. She's very excited. She keeps telling me she's growing.

Just dinner-out tonight, after we may go to our local little beer pub for some music and midnight toasts, but maybe we'll just watch the ball drop from the comfort of our den (we're slated for 1/2 foot of snow tonight).

My daughter came home for Christmas. Her alternator started going out on her car the day before she had to drive back (last Sunday). We couldn't find an alternator in time to get it changed out before she had to leave. I pressured my husband into letting them take his car back to NY, also giving us time to get her car to our mechanic - who I trust mucho. Part of the deal, however, was that I'd meet up with her tomorrow to swap back vehicles (her's has been repaired). So that means about a 7 hour round-trip tomorrow. We're gonna hook up for lunch. Anyone know a good restaurant around the Worcester MA area?

Do you like sushi? There's a nice sushi place in Shrewsbury. I'm sure they have other asian food there as well, but Smash and I both liked the sushi at Bauhinia.

I have to work Friday as well. I have nothing planned for tonight, but Friday I'm heading up to the mountains to spend the night and do a little gambling. I haven't really done much of note on New Year's in quite some time, as Samira said, it's amateur night.

I've had the flu for most of the past week, and it doesn't feel any better today, so I'll be leaking lime-colored foam out my *** while critiquing Carson Daly's DiCk Clark impersonation. Oddly, although the circumstances couldn't be more different, this eve will be exactly like last year's.

Does she realize there are metal detectors?

She crafts most of her weapons from wood...it shouldn't be an issue.

We're heading to a hotel in Durham tonight, just to switch up the pace and get out of the house. Little suite, indoor pool, we'll bring snacks galore and let the kids party. I'm eagerly awaiting to see if Zavi can actually stay up till midnight. He only made it to 10 last year.

Honestly, not sure what we'll be doing. Waiting to see if the oldest son is going to head out with his friends for NYE. Mr. Thumb is not jazzed about that idea. He's afraid our son will get hurt somehow. But he's 17 and we can't keep him in the house forever.

Been invited to a few parties by family and friends so we'll make the rounds probably early in the evening.

Celebrating babies first New Years!

Which I am sure means sitting on the couch drinking. Wife passing out @ 10 due to a lack of sleep and giving Jillian a kiss at Midnight.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm in the conservatory/garden room of a pwitty ickle cottage in Scotland. The powahz of 3G computing mean I'll play a little LoTRO later.

So far spent the day wandering around Robbie Burns' old cottages and eating nice food in the Tam O'Shanter Inn. Also freaked out the g/f by stopping the car on electric brae, taking off the hand-brake and feeling the car mysteriously start rolling up-hill. Seriously messes yer head up, that place. Smiley: eek

Right now my ancient and wrinkly old Mom is teaching the g/f how to spin wool on a foot-treadle spinning wheel. It's like watching a Grimm's fairy tale in 3D. Smiley: dubious

Later we'll stroll to the hostelry for a while then come back to the cottage to toast in the New Year with fine Single-Malt and a sing-song of Auld Lang Syne around the piano. Smiley: boozing

Out tonight to friends for NYE festivity. Which is us getting fed, watered and chatting it up, mainly. Especially since we have the kids there.

Friday I have off and Flea doesn't so I guess I'll dance around in my underwear. I could do that with her around, of course, but she's a better dancer than I am so it's embarassing.

No plans for Sat/Sun that I know of.

Jonwin and I will be baby-sitting the grandkids tonight, so daughter can drag SIL to cub and party with friends. Tomorrow we have plans with Jonwin's Mom for dinner out at local Diner.

Not sure any of us will make it to midnight. Though the way I been tossing and turning, I may find myself up at 2 in the morning again.

I need to bake some brownies for us to snack on tonight and then muffins for the morning.
