The whole "The kid's old enough now to realize that mommy/daddy smokes" was a good motivator for me as well.
Well, I have this whole not lying to her thing that's pretty important to me...so I feel a little guilty telling her I'm taking the trash out for the second time of the night...and I feel a little bad when she innocently points to a lighter (she's well trained and points them out anytime she sees them immediately) and says, "Momma! A candle-lighter! You have to put that away, it's dangerous for kids!"
I hope she's a shrink when she's all grown up because it would be a shame to waste all that manipulative power.
