Befriend him. He probably doesn't have a lot of friends.

Talk, here his side of the story, and ask whether or not you can forgive him of that crime, whatever it may be. Everyone has their own story, and we owe it to ourselves as enlightened humans

Forgiveness is a beautiful thing who knows, until you give us the whole story, we can't say much more than that

I don't know the crimes he was convicted of (obviously( but I'd at least like to hear why he did it. Understanding someone's viewpoint is never a bad thing. Just be careful about it.

Oh, you know what else is great about making the sentences harsher and harsher for sexual predators? They kill the victims rather than just molesting them...better to have no witnesses if you're going to get the same sentence as a murderer anyway, right?

Terrible.

You act as though girls don't go all googly-eyed over the young, hot male coach. It still doesn't change the fact that it's an abuse of position.

I have a few female friends who I know would have slept with some teachers if given the chance, but I withheld my comments on the female side of the perspective because I simply don't have the right to comment on it. Like a male could understand the female mind. Smiley: lol

In the end though I suppose I'm just trying to rationalize every boys fantasy. If I slept with one of my hawt teachers I would feel bad if they got in trouble for something I wanted to do, so I was just trying to transfer my hypothetical feelings into their shoes. Maybe I've twisted "Put yourself in their shoes" a bit too much, lol.

Just another reason why the teacher shouldn't do it. They are the adult, not you. They know what they are doing is wrong, and instead of considering the long term ramifications of what might happen to their student, the kid they're hired to teach and protect, if they get caught, they go right on ahead and act on impulse

ETA: Sorry for the use of you, Deadgye. I was expanding on the example you gave, I do not think you are a child or a minor.

For the record, I completely agree with this statement:

3. I do have a daughter, and the appeal to "Save the children" has been an incredibly effective marketing tool used by politicians to get elected by pushing for laws that do nothing to help us, often times make the issues worse, and destroy the lives of countless people in the process. Who's going to run a campaign against the "save the children" issue of the day? It's political suicide because of lunatic ranting and raving, emotion-ridden, illogical and unfounded arguments that are thrown around. Hell, you say something like, "Well, I have looked at the statistics and sex offender registries don't help at all, each step at stricter regulation actually makes the problem worse" and you'll probably be called a child molester yourself.

I feel the same way about a great many "cause based" political issues. Global Warming. Home Schooling. Socialized Medicine. Welfare. Gun Control. All use the same methodology of painting the issue as "for the children!", and phrase their arguments in a way that make anyone who opposes them appear to be "evil".

Next time someone labels me as "greedy" because I don't think taxing away wealth to pay for other people's goods and services is a great idea, remember the last line from the quote above...

Some of us can say things without words, my friend.

See. Would anyone be arguing any of this if we all just owned guns?
