BAGHDAD – On an Iraq trip shrouded in secrecy and marred by dissent, President George W. Bush on Sunday hailed progress in the war that defines his presidency and got a size-10 reminder of his unpopularity when a man hurled two shoes at him during a news conference.

"This is a farewell kiss, you dog!" shouted the protester in Arabic, later identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia television, an Iraqi-owned station based in Cairo, Egypt.

Bush ducked both shoes as they whizzed past his head and landed with a thud against the wall behind him.

"It was a size 10," Bush joked later.

Smiley: lol

Later in the same article:

Quote:
White House press secretary Dana Perino suffered an eye injury in the news conference melee. Bush brushed off the incident, comparing it to political protests at home

I wonder if it was one of the shoe's.
Edit: Never mind after looking at image.

Gotta give him credit on reflexes.

My last roommate in college wore a size 8. We laughed at him all the time. Those were some tiny *** shoes. Mine aren't huge, just a 12 1/2. Fairly normal I think.

Na. The guy across the hall from me in college wore 14, and my buddy from highschool football was up to 16.

They had huge feet.

Typically in these articles, most newspapers will refer to officials by their title the first time they refer to them, and with Mr., Mrs, or Miss thereafter. It wasn't an oversight or any form of disrespect, intentional or otherwise.

He seemed to think it was pretty funny.

I feel kinda sad for Bush, now that he's on his way out. History is not going to be kind.

A good friend of mine wears size 20. We always joke that his shoes should come with a free red clown nose.

That reminds me of our middle school drama coach.

He threw shoes at us on stage if we were goofing off too much.

I am sure he put a lot into charisma too(albeit not as much as Obama did), how else would you explain getting elected twice? Especially when most of the country hated him the second time(didn't they? or do people just say that?).

Yeah because someone that receives sixty-two million votes is surely 'mostly' hated. Smiley: oyvey

Alot of people didn't like Abe lincon either but later on he was known as great president and i'm sure things will iron out that way.

And Kennedy is known as a great president, despite that the first thing he actually did right was die in office.

What's your point, Flixtard?
