I hate this ******* state.

Quote:

PORTLAND (AP) -- The National Weather Service is warning Maine residents to prepare for freezing rain and power outages Thursday night.

Meteorologist John Cannon says the forecast calls for ice accumulations of a half-inch along the coast and up to 1 inch a few miles inland. That's enough to bring down limbs and power lines, and the weather service is projecting widespread power outages.

Cannon says the greatest ice accumulations will be in southern interior Maine, from Sanford through Lewiston to Waterville.

It's not all bad news. Cannon says it won't be as bad as the infamous ice storm of 1998 and that ski areas will get a foot of much-needed snow.

It should be a fun drive down to Mass tomorrow evening!

It's pretty miserable here today. Pouring rain and flash flood/tornado warnings abound.

It was 72 yesterday though. Smiley: grin

It feels like winter over here! 68 degrees, slightly overcast. I had to use an extra blanket last night to sleep. It dipped into the low 50s. I'm such a wuss.

It snowed in New Orleans and in Galveston last night. Hurricanes are just not enough, apparently.

We are still under our snow level from last year. Sunday had us at 9.3" to date. The same time last year already had us at 15". Not sure where Monday/Tuesday's snowfall put Madison.

I'd gladly trade with you, Nexa. Hard to believe it's almost halfway through December and we haven't had a snowfall here yet. One flurry a few weeks ago does not count! I want a white Christmas dammit!

My mom's place should be more seasonable though, being 60 miles further upstate.

Cold and rainy and miserable here, a muggy 60F, dropping to freezing again by tomorrow night though.

We needed the rain, though.

See that big ugly dark red spot? That's us.

Sometime last year we all vowed never to complain about rain ever again.

We've got about an inch of ice covered over by wet sticky snow. I'm not looking forward to the drive to work today.

My power has gone out three times so far. I've already called work and told them that I've no idea when I'll be in, but as soon as I can. Add to the pleasantness of my morning that the ex borrowed the car last night and got it towed because it was parked where they needed to do snow removal...he's waiting for the impound lot to open at 8am to go get it.

Storm just dumped lots of rain on us, as it never got cold enough to form snow or ice.

I should be glad the rain has stopped, but the low pressure that follow it has me wishing right hapf of my head would just explode, so the pain would go away.

I need some sunlight to perk me up some, but my eyes want me to hide in a dark closet.

After multiple power outages last night, we finally lost all power once and for all about 4 this morning.

I got up and attempted to shovel ice from my walkways and steps with only limited success, then headed in to work.

Got to work only to find out the office was closed...but hey it's got power, so here I am.

It's going to be slightly above freezing most of the day. I hope this stuff melts quick. It's going to be an icy mess when stuff starts freezing again.

I don't think we lost any trees. Smiley: smile
