Ok, thanks Red, didn't think of that.

Ok, I could have details wrong, it was long ago and I don't like to think about it. but the main points I have, as to who died. And why. There's an older (but still good looking couple) and a younger, gorgeous couple.
The older couple are both painfully good and noble in a medieval Chinese way. They've loved each other for decades, but have never told one another that, or been together. They each stayed single. There was some reason for that, but it seemed painfully inadequate when they finally confessed their love for each other in the few minutes AFTER the guy had been fatally poisoned, just before he died. And not in a Western, weep all over you type way. They were both kneeling upright in a room alone together, but across the room from one another.
The young couple loved each other too. He desparately loved HER, but SHE could not give up the revenge that she wanted for her bad childhood in order to focus on her love for him instead. The revenge needed her capturing a particular sword, which the older man in the movie had custody of and was keepign away from bad guys. The younger girl poisoned the older guy to steal the sword, because she couldn't defeat either him or the older woman in face to face battle.
She got her revenge, and she and her young man who desperately loved her were standing on a bridge. He told her he forgave her and wanted to be with her anyway, even though she'd @#%^ed up and done wrong. But she couldn't live with herself, and committed suicide by throwing herself off the bridge, instead of settling down with Mr Gorgeous and Devoted.
